Actually this is not such a outlandish proposal. Would be interesting to have a community voting system in the forum so when us opinionated lunk-heads decide to verbally spar the "community" can essentially tell us to "take it outside"...

Circle of equals... Stock Mechs... and a peanut gallery to cheer us on. Good times...

I can think of at least 8 members who would love to shove a foot in mouth.

not a good idea, the pgi staff will spend most of their days getting their arses kicked in trials of grievences and have no time to do things on the game.

Lets put this into perspective.

Historicaly, most MW players aren’t BT fans per se. Most like MW combat and just want to frag, min max / exploit the system, and brag about their K\D ratios. They either don’t care about lore or even think its just stupid roleplay nerdism.

PGI could pull it off *IF* they make it part of the Community Warfare where such contests have an actual stat (like duel ratio) or grants sweet salvage, or some tangible benefit to player's stats. Making it just for honor, for clan reputation, for roleplay etc.. is a FAIL. (personally I like rp and lore but seriously.. we cant force all players to do that)

If PGI decides to not make lore-based trials and duels part of CW, then Id like to see PGI add drop options for players that do use them in their clans.. like a drop with a 45 minute time limit, no objectives, allows noncombatant observers, and allows the two or more combatants take red and blue sides to fight it out in a circle of equals.

The OP already gave a reason for non-lore people to want to do it. The reward is more MC if you win, its basically just a bet, the bragging rights/honor are a bonus. Though I think the reward would need to be higher.

1on1 will be the best addition ever for this game. Or pre-arranged games. Sad that it was a standard feature of the past games. Just make it MC free.
