I'm looking for a good mech to buy. I've had some experience with ppc's and enjoy them and was wondering which is better for ppc's: atlas or stalker? And also, does anyone know why i cant buy premium time. I was going to but when i got on today the square is greyed out.

Probably the Stalker - i see many of them on the battlefield.
Atlasses ususally carry no more than 2 PPCs and have them sit quite low while the Stalker has them quite high mounted so you dont have to expose so much of yourself to fire them.

The real PPC Mech is the Awesome but its currently outmatched by the Stalker and Atlas.

That was pretty sure a Stalker but with 6 PPC you run into serious heat problems - 4 PPC (2 PPC + 2 ERPPC) should be good enough.

PPC have a minimum range of 90m below that they have the damage reduced a big way.
ERPPC do not have a minimum range and you can fight close combat with them but they radiate around 30% more heat than the standard PPC.

You can also fit 2 PPCs on a Raven 2X with XL-195 engine and full armor. Top speed is only 90kph, but that's often enough to slink off and find a spot to shoot from.

And yes, I have a dual PPC Raven 2X that I run ;)

For a PPC sniper the best mechs are Catapult K2, Stalkers and Cataphract (all except 4X) and maybe Hunchback 4P.
All 3 of them have energy hardpoints situated at least at cockpit heigh. So as soon as you can see a mech behind a ridge you can fire at it while the most parts of your mech are save behind the obstacle.

Awesome, Hunchback, Atlas, Dragon,... all have their energy points too low and have to expose half of the mech to be able to shoot at something.

So between Altas and Stalker for a PPC build, I'd take Stalker for sure.

I'm more of an Atlas-RS fan. 4 PPC mounted in the arms means perfect tracking. And it got the tonnage to fill it with more heatsinks. You could also mount two streaks and one ton of ammo against pesky scouts, if someone disables their ECM...

My "Thor's Hammer" (Awesome 8Q, 6 PPC's) has heat efficiency of 0.89. Its a deadly mech if you know how to use it, until PGI implements severe penalties for overheating these 6 PPC's builds are valid.

Also, I'd recommend Stalkers with 6 energy hardpoints, Atlas RS and Catapult K2 (4 ERPPC's config), Cataphract 3D (2 PPC's, 2 ERPPC's with jump jets).

You have to buy MC first then you will be able to add premium time, you can buy your MC from this link http://mwomercs.com/profile/credits.

When you are done log into your client the button should be active, and you can then add premium time.

Hope this helps.

catapult k2 or c1
any stalker
rs atlas
cicada 2a or 3m
catapracht 1x or 3d

these work well with ppc builds ofc you can make them effective in other mechs but these tend to be probably the best ones

the atlas RS can carry 4, and can carry more single heatsinks than it's possible to get the equivalent of using double heatsinks (e.g. the maximium dissipation I've managed with DHS's is about 36-38, but you can do 40-44 with singles and 3-4 ppc's

the stalker can fit 6 PPC's but shut down every other shot (great if you are accurate, suicidal if you miss)

arm mounted PPC's means you have greater and faster travel, and higher tonnage means better heat dissipation, but you are giving up high alpha for firing longevity so it depends which you prefer

Humanoid-shaped mech means being headshotted before you can get your own PPCs above cover.
Arms are notorious for being inaccurate with projectile weapons, torso mounted leaves less room for slip.

Please leave the boating to the Stalker, the Atlas was built for brawling. A long range Atlas is wasting that 19+ tons of armor.

I can count the times of being headshoted in my Atlas on a single hand, so I don't think that's a problem. Got a lot of games in that chassis.

I like my 4 PPC Stalker. Doesnt' need an xl, has enough DHS to get a few alphas (and lots of chainfire) and is sufficient damage to one-shot a cockpit if you can aim that well.

I use my 4 PPC atlas at 100-300 meters every bit as effectively as my UAC5 atlas...

I am enjoying my mobile PPC/ERPPC platform based on a DRG-1C, the 95kph movement with a 350XL is pretty sweet for relocating whenever enemies are getting too close.
