I also see large XL with SRM/Dual LBX being effective in large scale hit and run shotgun style fight's. The one thing the Jagermech loses to the Cataphract is the energy mounted points... state rewind has made laser sniping very accurate.

Without XL, it's only a gimp, fast mediums just eat it alive (ecm lights kill it anyways).
Also gief C-bill mech slots )

JägerMech already has:
- its haters club - main reason: self-proclaimed 'competitive players' have nothing to fap on
- its fan club - main reasons: 1) concept art looks cool; 2) it could be another sniping platform
- discreet pilots club - they will buy it nevertheless just to get new toy
- future owners from all 3 groups
- 7 pages of discussion and polarized anticipation
Edit: I will buy it nevertheless, JM6-A screen deliverz.

I don't think CASE helps with ammo in an XL torso - if that section's gone, whole mech is gone anyway. OTOH, it might be worth considering CASE for an arm with ammo in it. The thing I'd look for re: how well it carries the XL is the hitboxes, although if XL is viable in a Cataphract it's viable in any heavy

oh its viable in a cataphract, you just cant play it like most people do and tank every shot with your face.

Yeah, I agree - I've seen some really good Cataphract builds that depend on the XL
And if the Cataphract can run an XL, the Jager will probably be fine running one too

I want to run my 2xac20 Jager Like I run my Dragon, Fast, devastating, hit and run cavalry charges. I recogonize that probably wont happen until the daishi, but I can dream.

Case prevents damage from ammo explosion to spread through the CT.. but the side torso still goes off and takes all the damage, therefore if you experience an ammo crit and you have a XL engine, you're pretty dead case or not.
Not only, but adding the case can raise the possibility you get critted, since that if the CASE is the slot that takes the crit, the crit is rolled back (case can't get destroyed) and you may end up getting critted right in the ammo location.
Use case with STD engines. With XLs, place ammunitions so that you have used them all for the time you may have your internals exposed.

The Jagermech (not to be confused with the Jagermeister, both hit pretty hard), is "the official replacement" for the Rifleman, who is one of the unseen and will prob. never make it into MWO.
That alone...is my reason to get it.

Personally I would think of something like that, very balanced with both long range and short range coverage:
xl engine 315 (86 kph w/ speed tweak), full armor except legs 33/60
2xUAC5+6t ammo, 2xSSRM+1t ammo, 4xML

Dakka Dakka:
For the upteenth time, quad UACs are not viable !!!!! There is no where near enough tonnage for ammo...period. Do anything you want...gimp your armor...low-ball your speed with a mini-XL...It just WILL NOT WORK. The CTF-4X even at it's speed is still king of Dakka Dakka. The only thing that can change this is a heat tweak to AC/2s...literally nothing else will help. Even with upcoming machine gun tweaks, the chassis variants will still not be useful, as the needed 'punch' to compliment any such loadout are not available in hardpoints on the variants that can boat them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, I really want to like it...and I'm stockpiling C-Bills to insta buy 'em...but I just don't see the purpose other than 'new and shiny'. Sorry to rain on your parade, but I'm a MWO mechbay addict and have done all the math already...
Mr 144
Edit: mainly typos and formatting
Viable...? who said anything about viability? It's DAKKA, and it is therefore beyond your silly judging behavior. Screw viable, and give me a target.
Oh, and I did the math too... It won't be easy to live through a match, but it will be FUN! That's what I'm here for, and your e-peen is not big enough to rain on my parade, mate.

- Chassis: Endo Steel
- Engine: XL 225 (56.07)
- Heat Sinks: x10 DHS (9 in engine, 1 in RT)
- Armor: 208 RA(20), RT(22/15), CT(22/15), LT(22/15), LA(20), RL(20), LL(20), H(17)
- Armament: x4 UAC/5s (x2 RA, x2 LA) with 7 tons of ammo (x2 RL, x2 LL, x2 LT, x1 RT), MLAS (x1 LT)
This was my initial (non-viable, impossible, not to be considered) configuration, and then I decided to junk the laser for 8 tons of ammo. Yeah, I can burn through more than that in my UltraMets in one fight, but 8 tons is still 200 rounds. If you manage to live long enough to deliver a significant portion of that ordnance downrange, then somebody is going to be hurting.

Glass build, you can't be serious willing to bring something like this anywhere and with 7 tons of ammo good luck, sometimes I unload 10 tons in my triple UAC Ilya
This, Mwo Mechbay has many non implemented variants and allows to foresee the configurations far before it's allowed.
If it helps, I'll tell her to put on some pearls and a little black dress. Then we'll go paint the town LEAD...

Ditto, My Heavy class ELO will weep painful painful tears.
Those tears are the cost of experimentation though... if thats the price I must pay too find a working 4xUAC5 build so be it.
as a sidenote, I am Beginning to think we should worry less about weight, and more about slots.....
XL engine+4xUAC5+endosteel+ammo is ALOT of slots....
XL225 with Endo works out to fill every slot in the mech. 8 tons ammo, 6.5 tons standard armor, 10 double heatsinks. I would be much happier building this cannon out of a 75 tonner, but that will be a while yet.

The JM6-A will be the most versatile chassis this game has seen yet. At least until the Orion comes... or PGI maybe does a HeroMech Stalker with ballistic hardpoints

Yes, with tweak....just cause you won't check...
Jager 255XL ~70kph (with tweak)
Endo
10 minimum DHS
3xUAC
384 armor
10 tons left for ammo and/or MLs
Like I said...slower...less ammo..less armor..less firepower
Mr 144
But at least not half your shots will hit the ground because the Cataphracts weapons are so damn low.

Jagermech will definitely be able to exploit some hull-down firing positions previously only enjoyed by the K2 with heavy energy weapons in the arms. My dakkaphracts (4X and the UltraMets) work just fine, but only from positions where they are more exposed.
