The game currently only favors damage so why run small mechs? I love running a small mech but its disappointing to cap three bases by yourself, have 3 assists (even small damage) , no kills and end up on the bottom of the heap for points. You end up making very little CBills under the current system. Its also hard to rake up damage points when your running around capping bases.
The game only rewards damage and assists. Everyone should get points for capping or assisting a cap percentage. It would make the game more balanced for grinding.
Great game otherwise.

I'll second this. Why bother having capture points if they offer nothing. This is why everybody just plays as death match.
I can't see light mechs getting too many kills, so what's the incentive?? Everyone might as well play as an Assault Mech..
It's makes no sense not giving any rewards to players who actually complete objectives.
For now, I'm shelving my commando.

Your pain is felt by many who want to play the Modes Objectively and not as mere 'slugfests' that they currently are.
I say Objectively because if you notice the Primary and Secondary objectives are in order of Cap OR KIll on both Modes.
Close had capping bonuses and cap assist bonuses, but those went away and now we have brute tactics, which are the only rewards given.
I want to see;
1. Time on Cap- and it can be like a point per tick of full cap, so if you feel you need to barely cap that one for another or aid in combat, you can still get something more than what you get now. This applies to all capper on base at the same time.
2. Overall capping bonus for number of caps- prorated with a flat amount for each cap and you can get capping assists for like 33% or something of the first on's bonus for getting the Cap.
3. Recap bonus- for actively trying to reclaim a lost cap for your team, so this doesn't apply to the starting bases since they weren't yours to begin with.
BUT; if we do this, we need to have bonuses for Defense of a capped base as well since a lot of fighting goes on at the bases. Or if a heavy or assault mech wants to sit on the base, they can opt to do so and Defend and still get bonuses for holding the base.

Cap races in Assault mode don't need to be encouraged any further. Perhaps bonuses should be added for other roles lights perform that benefit the team, like detecting the enemy's position and defending your own cap.

Cap defense, in the case of Assault mode, was something an Assault mech would volunteer for back in Closed Beta. They wouldn't be caught dead doing that now!!
Assault is a cap race in the sense that capture the flag is a cap race. Only difference is, both teams know where the enemies flags are in Assault and they don't in CTF. Which gives me the idea that maybe one of the Mech on each team be "FLAGGED" and if they are taken out, the match ends since the other team has effectively, captured the Flag.
