I have never made online purchases with a Visa/Master Gift Card.
1. Can it be used to purchase MC?
2. If so, is there a special process to do so?

I bought some crap online with one of these I was given as a gift last year.
First thing, register it on the website of whomever issued the card, that makes it so they associate it with your address and whatnot. After that, it should work perfectly as a normal CC and you can purchase whatever you like with it in the usual method.
