My standard 3 button mouse (left/right click + scroll whell button) configures fine. I recently bought the Logitech MX5500 (Clicky here for reference) and it has oodles of buttons. None of which are being picked up by MWO's config screen. My goal is to have atleast 5 of these buttons set to firing a weapon group.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions on how to get MWO to acknowledge my other mouse buttons when I press them? Thanks!

Please be more specific - what are you trying to do?
Are you trying to bind the game to the mouse? ie are you trying to set weapon group 4 to mouse 4?
if so, you must set the mouse button to "Generic Button" in SetPoint for the game to recognise it.
Failing that, bind the mouse to the game - ie in SetPoint, bind mouse button 4 to the 4 key.

I'm using a g700 from logitech. MWO seems not to recognize most of the buttons my mouse has. The trick is to assign keyboard keys to the unrecognized buttons in the mouse driver. So if you want to have "target" on mouse button 5 assign the key "r" to this button in your logitech software. So if you press the mouse button, the mouse does "hit" the assigned key and types a "r". Following this advice, you also are able to use the mouse wheel.
Hope this helps...

I don't understand why logitech confuses button configs so much. I have a razer naga, and it works off either the top row number keys or the numeric keypad buttons [there's a physical switch on the bottom]
no muss, no fuss, and a lot more stable than trying to tap buttons all over the mouse while lining up that long distance gauss shot.
[yes, there was a point. It implied what the O/P should be doing with his recently purchased mouse. . .]

Yeah, what has been said is spot on. Open your Logitech software, set MWO as a config in your advanced settings, that will bind specific settings for this one game. You can get quite creative. If you do this, then you do not run the risk of making a mistake with other games, or social media, or anything else. I myself habe not been able to get my scroll to set. I did fo a while in closed beta, but lost it on a patch.I do also use the mouse left and right bottoms on the scroll, just lean the scroll wheel left or right, works great for thimgs like, thermal vision, overide, etc. Good luck danno

I have a corsair M90. I can send characters to chat with it, but not the commands.
Example, I can get h h h h h in chat, but I can't turn on heat vision with while playing.
Similar issue?

I have resolved (I own a M500) uninstalling the logitech mouse driver and forcing the standard microsoft driver.

This is because the mouse is not holding the button for 50ms.
Try recording a macro with timing, and alter it so that there is a 50 millisecond delay between the key down and the key up.
Also, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE LOGITECH DRIVERS.
By default, for example, the side buttons are set to "Forwards" and "Backwards" (As in browser forwards / back).
Open SetPoint, change the button to either "Generic Button" or "Generic Button 4" and it WILL work.

I think EvilC's onto something. My logitech G500 has no issues in MWO, whatsoever, however, I also set my mouse buttons in SetPoint to generic mouse buttons for gaming a long time ago.
Just not installing the mouse software works, too, since the MS drivers have no issue, but whether you use either (and SP does have nice features you're otherwise missing), this game shouldn't give any really issues.

Here's a picture of what I'm trying to accomplish. I have the same settings set for the program MWOblahblah.exe and my attempts to configure the buttons in the game will not work.
ty for all the feed back by the way, its greatly appreciated!
