Is Heat Off Or Is It My Math?

My Awesome 8Q is running 2 PPCs and 1 ER PPC with 19 double heat sinks and a 300 standard engine. My heat dissipation should be (10*2)+(9*1.4)=32.6 per second adjusted to 37.49 per second with 2x Cool Run. Two PPCs and one ER PPC generate a total of 31 heat per second or a 33.5 heat per second with Fast Fire. So, even with ambient heat on, say, normal Forrest Colony, I should be able to out cool the heat I generate. But this isn't the case so what am I not looking at?

A PPC generates (10/3.0)*8 = 27 heat per 10 seconds
An ER PPC generates (10/3)*11 = 37 heat per 10 seconds
So two PPCs and an ER PPC generates 91 heat per 10 seconds and you only dissipate 38 heat per 10 seconds

Edit, likewise, those are heat per shot values and not heat per second values for the PPCs.

Damn, that's right. Was thinking that everything was based on a per second basis. Derp, thanks Khobai.

A 1.4 DHS dissipates 0.14 heat a second.
And a true 2.0 DHS dissipates 0.2 heat a second.
So the OPs current build at 10x2.0 DHS and 9x1.4 DHS will allow him to dissipate 3.26 heat a second.

The 300 has 12 slots. Only 10 of them come standard with the engine and function at the 0.2 rate. The other two come in the form of "Heat Sink Slots" which can be added to the Engine itself at no Critical cost, and count at the 0.14 rate.

It's such a simple system, I don't get why people have so much trouble with it...
Oh, wait, it isn't, and I completely understand.

Your math is stating that Cellphone(bouncy ball/A puppy+hieroglyphics)= Alphastrike laughter. No wonder you spent 80% of the match shut down.
I wish I was good at math.

Not to mention the fact that it is perfectly documented in the mechlab, the tutorial, and the user's manual... What? You don't have those yet? Huh

At least it can be found in the forums in the General FAQ.
By which I mean - questions on how double heat sinks and heat works are frequently asked.
