So yeah, I lost a leg to an ammo explosion.
While out of ammo.
How exactly does nothing explode, and deal damage?
And no, it wasn't a Gauss explosion. 2xAC5 and 4 tons of ammo (2 in each leg). Ran out of ammo about 2/3rds through the match. Then a minute or two later, my leg got destroyed by an ammo explosion. Is this a bug, or WAI? And if WAI, why the hell can empty ammo be caused to explode?

I dont think any Ac/20 to the leg technically is an ammo explosion, but then again it is ammo and it does blow up them legs easy.

It could be, that Betty announced the ammo as a destroyed component, while the leg was lost normaly to outside damage dealt to it.

WRONG. Your mech got leg swept by a ninja.

This nearly happened to me today, but I caught the culprit in the act! I was out in my Awesome 8R shooting SRMs this way and that when I saw a flicker of feathers shoot past the lower right of my cockpit. I looked down, and **** me if I didn't see a God damned Raven trying to lay sapper charges on my knee actuators!
I swear, they're getting sneakier by the patch!

As Egomane said, Betty will announce ammo being destroyed even if the ammo is depleted, however no damage will be transferred to your mech if this is the case. Your leg probably just got destroyed from regular damage but Betty announced the ammo destruction anyway.

When a component gets destroyed Betty will rattle off everything that got taken out with it.
