Gold selling in WoW is bannable because the actual act jacks up the games economy/causes inflation.

WoW Also has an in game recruitment channel that you can turn on or off as well as the forum post, but even in wow you could use a recruitment macro in trade or general chat with no ill effects.

In MWO you have 2 ways of recruiting, the forums which a small % of the playerbase actually visits, and an even smaller % visits the recruitment section.

Or in game chat where you know the players will see the message.

As long as it is only once at the start or at most twice at the start and end of a match I see nothing wrong with it. If you don't want to join or go then simply ignore it.

Edit: and if it really annoys you suggest an additional chat channel/better chat box that allows multiple channels similar to wow instead.
