My advice? Stay close to cover and get in close. Then rain on their parade.

In the simplest of terms, read the slash as 'or' and the hyphen as 'to.'
/end English lesson
Now as for the real replies, I keep my builds pretty quick but if they have 2 or more on a team its almost impossible to make it close enough. Another problem lies in the fact that they are capable of engaging at pretty much any range. Its hard to do an evaluation if you can't even get close enough.
PS. The name poptart is nice but it has no indication the specific chassis. If you've got a better one I'm open to it.

They rise at speed X. You know your projectiles move at Y. They'll be airborn for Z.
So if they have all the guns and jets, they're going to be very slow, undersunk, have no armor, or all three.
Ergo, you swat them out of the sky.

1) Fast firing direct LoS weapons
2) Use speed to flank them(A1 with a big engine and lots of SRM's). They have the lateral arm movement of an elephant.

A. Useful information pertinent to the post
B. Snarky douchebag (most likely uses that configuration)
C. Person blaming my piloting for all issues
Let me be specific again. I would request that if your post doesn't conform to the model of example A then I would politely ask you to slam your fingers in a car door.
Now, the map that poses the most difficulty is Forest Colony. The wide open plain between the starts is pretty conducive to a couple "snipers" hanging back. If the team is pushing up and your team hangs back you have no choice but to play purely defensively, especially if starting on the low ground.

I was in one match where a Jenner set their sites on me. Since I am not proficient at ballistic speeds and leading a close in target moving at 130+, I was outmatched. Until my friends with LRMs brought the rain. I'd compare PPC/Gauss builds as similar to LRM builds. Keep within support range of your allies and Location, Location, Location.
What do you do against them? That all depends on your build and which map. Are you close range but slow? Long range but fast? A glass cannon? There's more than one way to skin a cat... aphract that is. YYYEEEAAAAHHH!
