Just got a second 7850. I get no performance benefit, just flickering ground textures. Anyone else have any luck with crossfire or sli?

I'll get back to you on this later tonight. I just got an A10 APU and combined it with my existing 6670. The Crossfire bridge is actually integrated in the PCI-E connection and the software, so it may work. In theory, it has a much better chance of working than if I actually had a couple GPU boards with a physical bridge.

No I don't think it is supported yet, I got two Geforce cards on SLI and only one is being utilized.

It is really too bad. This game really needs to support multiple gpu's with how demanding cryengine 3 is.

SLI and Crossfire is going to be supported, I think they said it is going to be when DX11 gets activated, when this will happen we will just have to wait and see.

I actually have a working version of Crossfire working! My frames are up across the board and both my GPU's are actually working. Woot!

System:
A10-5800k
Radeon HD6670
rest is trivial

Driver:
Catalyst 12.8 (What my mobo disk installed - I haven't updated to 12.10 or 12.11)

edit: driver info

I've got an HD6870 and an HD6850 in xfire and I'm pretty sure both are working since I'm running the game at max settings which I'm pretty sure wouldn't happen on only one card. I'll test it to make sure sometime this week after I finish prepping for the conference I have to present at next week.

Here is an answer from the developers they are currently working on SLI\Crossfire for this game.

Same here, I run SLI and multiple monitors. I run a utility to monitor my video cards on one monitor while playing on another. The game doesn't utilize SLI, at all. Temps and gpu utilization shoot up on the primary card and the secondary just idles.

Need to check the timeline but I thought DX11 was being introduced with today's patch? I had not heard SLI/Crossfire support was coming at the same time but I'll definitely be reading the patch notes.

Right now there is no official support for CrossfireX/SLI.

I know of some players were performance actually drops, when they enable it.
I know of some players were one card idles and there is no performance gain.
I know of some players were both cards look like they are utlized but there is no performance gain.
And there are some very few players who claim to have it working. I haven't seen proof of that yet, though.

It is announced for the near future (hopefully todays patch). We would still need driver profiles from Nvidia and AMD to make full use of it.

Jaxom, read the boards. Everywhere I have seen where an actual physical mechanical bridge that one has to connect two cards, SLI/Crossfire does NOT work at the moment. Getting another card will not help you. Mind you, before I made the upgrade sometimes I would be in the middle of a massive brawl and my frames would be 4FPS. Now, they don't drop below 19. I know that my situation is working because of the performance increase. I speculate that the only reason it is working is because my setup does NOT have an actual physical bridge that I had to install in addition to my card. I simply turned the option on after I installed my drivers. I suppose I could record the game in both modes (w/ only my card, then with my card and APU), but recording will effect the FPS. Also, look on benchmark charts to compare my setup to yours. Your one card is more than three times better according to PassMark than my combined setup. If I were in your shoes, I'd save your money for Christmas gifts or something other than another GPU because it won't help your performance in MWO until the devs are able to acknowledge SLI/Crossfire in their product.

hello

for me that's :

"I know of some players were both cards look like they are utilized but there is no performance gain."

the 2 CG are running because the need of 3 screens to be functional ... but i have the same fps from before with only 1 CG ... so SLI is not actualy working. (and i have tested it on another game and here the SLI is working, so it is not a bad configuration from myself)

Why are you both using crossfire with 2 different cards? You do realize that the 6870 will be under used to match the 6850 which is bad for gaming performance.

The HD6870 alone beats crossfire`ing them together...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that holds true anymore. In both afterburner and the built in catalyst control center I can independently overclock each card. Granted, I have no idea if it'd limit the hardware of the higher card to the lower card in terms of shaders or whatever. . .

And for the record, 2 x 6850 > 1 x 6870. From experience.

I agree! The two cards beat the single card by a large margin, most of the time.

Two answer the question of Slider149:
I have not seen any improvment over the last patch.
