just as another option,my catapult c1

2erppc´s, 2 mpls, 2 srm 4´s (can go for 6´s as well, but sacrifices armor or speed) , a quick XL engine, ams and some more armor... 20 dhs, endosteel

it´s quick and agile for a heavy mech, can provide long range support and has a good punch on short range... i like it very very much...

myprefered K2 atmo: 260 std( 79.5kph tweaked) endosteel,19DHS, i think about 1.5 or2 tons more armor (espescially center torso and arms)

2 erppcs,2 medium lasers,ams... i just threw out the MG´s for the ams, although they were a nice addition for the m-lasers ( i used them all in one group^^)

both builds could go faster, but i personally prefere the builds as they are... maybe i´ll post the complete setups later, got no time now

Zombie Mode: it's also what happens when a Centurion takes more damage than its attacker swears is possible and takes three assault 'Mechs four minutes to kill doing it, the last two of them spent loudly cussing up the chat channels as well as shooting the Lich'Mech. I've seen Centurions do some downright unnatural junk, man...

I've been completely cherry red all over with no armor and have people swearing at me to just "Effin go and die, man, how are you alive?!" before I get popped.

Zombie Centurions are just plain fun at annoying people.

I would recommend Dragons for the speed/range combination. I recently mastered my Dragons out with Gauss/ERPPC combinations or Gauss/Large Laser for every chassis. The engines and upgrades do get expensive (300XL or higher, ENDO and DHS required) but they will be very heat efficient, do 90+ kph, and hit like a ton of bricks at range if you can keep your crosshairs on target.

Centurion.

If concerned about armor, drop the DHC that is with the AC/2 and convert the armor type and add more armor.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...745db430be6db30

Stands for itself.

I use both of these to good effect (400-500 damage a game) but they are a mixed LRM/AC/2 loadout with a backup laser.

I usually get credit for either assists or kills on all 8 enemies (or however many got killed if we lost).

Mad Cat! XD

But before the Clanners get here Cent is a good basis for a marksman-support mech. AL with st250, PPC, LRM5X2, and 3 Mid lasers is what I've been running. Works good.

Huh..... that is..... ok, I will give you credit for trying something other than the typical Zombie 3xSRM6 build.

But.... huh. Wow..... your armor is paper thin. And that lone AC2 just seems like a waste of tonnage, especially since you have so little armor over there.

Heh, I have a feeling you are going to fall in love with the Trebuchet. :(

Here is my take on your build.

I got rid of the of the AC2.... and that alone allowed me to add a LOT.
-TAG... practically necessary in this age of ECM
-Artemis... not required, but since you are ideally shooting those LRMs using Line of Sight, then they REALLY tighten up the spread and dramatically decrease your lock-on time
-Maximum armor everywhere except for the legs

Hmmm.... I might give this a go actually. It'll depend on how the Trebuchet looks when it comes out, though.

I do plan on using the trebie when it comes out... Also note the centurion is fairly quick (not the fastest, but quick). That is the reason it has so little armor. I Don't get shot much. the AC/2 is for killing nearly cored mechs at range without wasting 20-30 missiles on it. I rarely ever have an issue with the low amount of armor on him.

Also, dropping the DHC in the arm with the AC and switching armor type on it adds 1.59 tons of armor... thats a decent amount of extra armor for a light mech.

fast sniper
hmmm cicada with 2 erppc
centurion with gauss or ppcs
dragon with gauss or ppcs
catapult c1 with 2 erppc/ppc and JJ
catapult k2 with 2/4 (er)ppc
pretty baby and ppcs

well ofc you may load ERLL/LL instead of ppcs but i dont find those to be effective for fast moving long range mechs

My recommendation is a twin LRM15 Hunchy with 2 Mlasers...

Okay. Having now seen the stats for the Trenchbucket and its associated variants?

Trebuchets. Trebuchets are what you want. All the Trebuchets.

I ambuying the hell out of one of those things. Maybe more of them, depending on just how precisely pants-tighteningly awesome it turns out to be. Heh, to hell with my 4SP. Who needs SRMs anyways, when you've got fifty tons of high-speed, jump-capable, missile-beaming happiness sitting there right next to it?

This. SO MUCH THIS. You're looking at JumpJet capable LRM15x2 boats that can easily run up to 100+ km/h tweaked. The mobility of this thing is inCREDIBLE. Speaking of direct-fire suppport...hop on top of the field, TAG an enemy and unleash the fury. Or just run at hectic speed around enemies like 200 meters away. This thing has so much potential.

Seriously. Once I get ahold of some Trenchbuckets here, I'm not sure I'll ever pilot my Dragons again. They're either the most mobile (realistic) LRM threat on the field, or giant Commandos with the armor and jump capacity to make you hate SRM ding-dong-ditches all over again. The brawlers're gonna take one look at these guys and go "mehhh...Hunchbacks." But the strike pilots who have the foggiest idea what they're doing are going to be waist-deep in drool.

Kinda like this.

This Trebuchet [Build] is what you want, Artemis for 3-second locks, TAG for piercing ECM.

XL engine since there isn't much more than an LRM launcher in the torsos, and the speed keeps targets out of min range.

My cheap and dirty build - I didn't save up enough to fully customize it properly.

Cheap and dirty TBT-5J - I actually haven`t done the DHS and endo upgrades yet due to no $$.

I have ran a fast 3x PPC Dragon before but the main problem would be the lack of heat sinks for some extra speed. It does however let you run and gun and get away from most mechs.
