For all the complaining folks have in MWO regarding the "grind", the experience is a million times worse in Hawken. You need to play hundreds of matches to unlock crap in that game.

You're insulting unreal tournament.

Mmmmm Hawken is not great but its hardly a gimmick with this game as a standard. There is one thing that Hawken dose that this game dosn't, it rewords individual player skill.

Perhaps you are lacking in the aforementioned skill, if you feel that mechwarrior does not reward it.

Fighting in a death squad of 8 mechs is how you're rewarded in MWO, Hawken is much more dependent on fast reflexes and player skill. But they are two very different games in terms of what "skill" actually means.

There are no hit zones. A shot to the foot is as dangerous as a shot to the face. Your mech controls pretty poorly. You'll get matched against level 25 guys who ruin you in seconds, and the game doesn't have the MWO 'feature' where there's usually a good player on your team who'll get 2958592 damage, and give you tips.
The only truly viable unit's the scout.

1) Hawken is more akin to battlefield in terms of overall gameplay whereas MWO is more along the lines of Armored Core/ chromehounds.
2) Like battlefield, the weapons a mech in hawken can carry is restricted to class type with some requiring a higher level to unlock for said mech (I.E. not 100% customizable). Also, the equipment you can get is also level lecked.
3) if you all think MWO has a bad player disconnection issue, you can't play Hawken without have a massive amount of disconnects (though many can drop in, but that takes a while)
4) the overall feel in Hawken is more like piloting a mech suit (like FEAR 2's EPA suits)
5) the paint system are rather sloppy in Hawken at the moment when compared to MWO's camo system (the skins in Hawken are per mech chassis and doesn't unlock for all)
[edited cause I can't use grammar apparently]

There are game modes that are quite a bit more clever than we have here, hopefully that will change.

Mechwarrior since day one has been a thinking mans game. One wrong move and it costs you alot more than a respawn.

Not putting hawken down. It's a mech action game while MWO is a mech simulation game. Two different things entirely.
