What are the canon relations that Davion currently has with the other houses? I'd like to know the baggage I might be taking on with an affiliation so I can no WHY Kurita samuri are swearing at me.

Swearing at our enemies is beneath a samurai, but in a very general explaination- Davion and Kurita have been fighting for years because each believes the other is the biggest threat to their chance to rule the Inner Sphere.

Ah Ikka, you have that wrong.

Each successor Lord believes they are the one to re-unite the IS and take up the fallen head of statesmanship, left when Amaris destroyed the Cameron line.

(Stands on soapbox, prepares to emit rhetoric and hyperbole)

But we all know Hanse is the one to do it. And he will do it.

WIth us as his army, we will rid the IS of the scurge that is the Capellan Confederation and the Draconis Combine!!!!!!

(gets down off soapbox)

Also recently the New Avalon Institute of Science was erected to help rediscover LosTech and further the scientific goals of the Federated Suns. This is where many things are resurfacing. Even Comstar sees the NAIS as a threat and has already tried many times in its short life (being 3050) to destroy it and its scientists. The NAIS is also the most prestigious military academy, even surpassing the Nagelring of the Lyran Commonwealth.

Not completely correct, as NAIS has been in existence since prior to 3028 (numerous mentions in the Warrior Trilogy books.) Dr. Riva Allard (Justin Allard's half sister, and Kai Allard-Liao's Aunt) was educated at the NAIS and was working on her Doctorate in the 3026-3029 time frame. Nais also obtained the Star League Memory core recovered by the Gray Death Legion around 3027. Also, the New Avalon Military Academy (NAMA) was combined with NAIS sometime between 3028 and 3050.

However during the clan invasion, Hanse Davion, and Theodore Kurita negotiate a "gentlemens agreement" to not attack each other while the clan threat is active. Victor Steiner-Davion and Hirohito Kurita have decided to maintain this gentlemens agreement. So while there are factions in both the Federated Suns and the Draconis Combine who try to stir up trouble, right now, the primary focus of House Davion is the Clans. This is not to say that House Davion does not still consider wiping the Capellan Confederation off the map, and is highly suspicious, if not particularly worried about the Free Worlds League (which is uruled by a fake Thomas Marik, put in place by Com Star Primus Myndo Waverly)
