Just played my best Mechwarrior match in my entire 17 year history of piloting our beloved giant robots. It was in Mechwarrior Living Legends, piloting a Cougar outfitted with 4x LRM10s. Along with Jump Jets, I was able to harrass the entire enemy team, even after losing a member of my own (rage quitter). Taking on a Cougar, a Bushwacker, a Hollander 2, a Catapult, a Vulture, and finally a Mauler before they brought me down. Note, I killed all but the Mauler.
I'll admit, I poptarted a bit, but I was using normal LRMs, so I was making myself an easy target with my long jumps in order to gain a lock. Mostly, I just hung on top of a hill, got my lock, and then fired while jumping backwards down the hill, instead of your run of the mill poptart. I often had to return to base to rearm and repair.
During the early part of the match, I saved a wounded Owens from destruction. My teammate was knee deep in it, surrounded by a Cougar, a Catapult, and a Hollander. He took the hint once he saw my missiles coming down and played Wild Weasel, as I proceeded to tear them apart with 40 LRMs a shot.
I'm still jacked on an adrenaline high from the ordeal.
So, give us your moment of glory.

My most recent 'moment of glory' was my trial of position for the rank of MechWarrior in Clan Hell's Horses, played out in MWLL.
I, the Colt, chose the Shadowcat with the Clan UAC/20, whereas the Blooding Stallion chose the Prime. We were on Sandblasted (Niles, as we call it), and I managed to get close to him beside the South pyramid. Hell was unleashed by both of us, and within a few seconds, his center torso's internal structure was being held together with a prayer and a couple remaining structural beams; my mech's condition was similarly bad, as I had taken severe damage to my center and left torso during my attempts to close with him, and one of my arms completely missing. I jumped to avoid his next salvo of fire, and it all ended up hitting my already-damaged right leg, destroying it. I went down, and before anyone could declare the trial over, I managed to fire another salvo from the autocannon into his mech's CT.
I obviously never got the shot at Star Captain, but at least I'm not a Colt anymore, and I ended up with an interesting TOP story to tell.
I'm typically a tanker, so this was pretty good for me; the only mech I usually use is the Adder Prime, regardless of how many assault mechs are on the field late in the match.

In MW4 Mercs MP, i've killed a bad Kodiak pilot with 20 ton Fire Moth (stock) without support by other mechs.

I can imagine the Kodiak's frustration. "Hold still ya little *******!"
Yeah! In the chat he said: " You're a nasty evil midget!". I'll never forget.

But there was a little bit of luck, too. Most times my small Fire Moth blow up quickly ...

my personal best happened in a open server in MW4's glory days. I was playing, not really paying attention to who I was shooting, and admittably, was having a pretty good game. About half way though the game, I noticed someone was addressing me in the ingame chat. I don't remember who it was, but he said " DAMN IT BARB. I'm going to throw my monitor out the window!!! One way or another, I'm going to see your mech blow up!" I started ROFLMAO. I actually fell out of my seat laughing. Apparently, this guy was after me the whole game, and I didn't even notice. Being one of the main MWL admin(this was when I was the Ladder League Manager), people loved to come after me specifically when in a open server. So what he was trying was nothing new to me, but I usually would notice it.

Playing Mechwarrior 2 Mercs for the first time. Spotting a "Mad Cat" and being like "*** is that?!" and before it even powers up, hitting the fire button and one shotting it with a cockpit shot from twin PPC's. Salvaging it and using it to own face for most of the rest of the game

In Mer4 mektek, I took down 3 baddies back to back without dying using an Uller in InnerCity with just ERLarge Laser and ErPPC (hot!)
And must I say that was fun
Not my best but I wanted to vent it =)

Table top back in college. Walked a Banshee 5S into combat with a Zeus and Battlemaster in my area of responsibility. First shot of the game was my Gauss Rifle into the Zeus. Solid hit with a roll of 12 (double sixes) to the location. Scratch one Zeus with a head shot. I can still remember the dance of anger that followed for the Zeus owner.
The Battlemaster was easy picking at range after that. He was second to last to go down on the enemy side. We won with only one mech down.
We played large multiplayer battles with 8 guys, each one controlling one mech. Great times.

Well, while we're bragging... *smirks*
I used to enjoy hunting Atlases in a Stock Flea on MW4 merc, getting one always made me feel rather accomplished and it's a fun challenge, I suggest trying it, teaches you a great deal about stop start movement needed to hug the backside of a larger mech. That was against computers mind you, the only light I piloted with players around was the Raven. I'm proud to say I have managed to take out a Behemoths by myself a time or two while using it.
