Well having started a little over a month ago I have to say Im over the huge ragefest of the intial learning/rolling stage.

The controls and idea of the game are great for me and I love dropping in my lumbering Hunchback, my nimble Dragon and my outrageous Jenner. In good games I do really well and feel awesome, sadly I still noob it up at times and get stomped. I dont feel the game is hard to learn, rather it is hard to master and very frustrating to noobs.

My feedback-
needs introduction to be better- tutorial and training ground needs major input
Cadet bonus- could do with lasting a bit longer
Mechlab- improvements cant come quick enough I wasted so many c bills here at first
comms- seriously worse game if you solo pug and rely on in game chat
TS- its pretty much the uber fun mode of the game
Players- most are great fun and a good bunch however some are seriously demented or plain annoying
ecm- well i still hate it
premimum time- loved the 24 hr free pass
paints- love it but hate the pricing, please drop costs
hero mechs- havent got one, bit to pricey for my tastes
f2p- I did send some money to the devs but you can grind away for free so thats great
maps- we all know we need more and some reruns to be done to nerf the bugs
new patch- great improvements (mostly) looking forward to new map and mech

Overall an A- could do with some more polish but its pretty dam sweet- Noob friendly this game aint. I still class myself as a Noob btw

Good to see you still here pilot. Thanks also for posting feedback that isn't in capsclamation marks. We'll see soon whether Elo can help smooth the opening salvos of this game for rookies.

If you mean "Noob" as in: Played long enough to know how to play right but still doesn't.
You can't fix this type of ignorance. Because, they refuse to learn. The game will never be Noob friendly.

If you mean "Noob" as in, Newbie: Hasn't played long enough to lean how to play right.
This can be fixed. They just need to learn the ropes. The game could get better for new players right now. Elo will help Newbies.

Let me follow with my own noob update if you may. According to my inbox, I created this account on the 27th of this month.

TRAINING: Worked for me, I looked at the youtube videos and it made sense to me. I missed the weapon chaining part and fortunately was told in-game.

CADET BONUS: 25 games seems fair enough to me.

MECHLAB: I heard about smurfy-net and have been using it for my builds ever since. PGI should try to match this somehow or licence it from Smurfy.

COMMS: Make VOIP work in the game or create a lobby where users can post their TS3/Ventrilo servers.

TS: If TS/Ventrilo were banned, MWO would be dreary as heck.

Players: Older than I thought they'd be and overall an awesome bunch although there can be some yahoos, like anywhere really.

ECM: I think it very much adds to the game and support it fully. Worried about stealth armor - in a good way.

PREMIUM: I bought it for the CB boost and find it's good value for money.

PAINTS: Prices are high so I only bought one coat, but let PGI have some money to fund the game. Wish I could sell it though for 1/2 price.

HERO MECHS: I bought the Ilya right away for combined hero+cadet bonus goodness. Highly recommended for starters. Next time I'd also get 1 day premium to cover the first 25 matches.

F2P: I think the balance is well struck. I'm a bit concerned that I'll end up spending more than I ever spent on WoW or stand-alone games though. We shall see.

MAPS: Yeah, not enough maps. Getting tiresome now. Would like being able to choose the map to play on and would like 10 more maps at least. Doesn't have to be hyper realistic while we're in beta, just get us more variety. Would love to see a GOOD random terrain generator so each map would be totally different. That would be fantastic.

PATCHES: Annoyed that they fall into the UK-evenings when I'd have time to play after work.

And that's me.

I think the average age of the players is where many of the kids lose the battle of the pricing scheme.

Hi, I'm just new to MWO games, actually I'm just invited by my friend but my location is in pacific asia, meaning I always got bigger pings. And I just noticed that when I'm using my new account I always have lower fps, about 7 to 9 fps only but when I'm using my friend's account which is registered last december, I can reach 15 to 20 fps.

I'm sorry if this is not the right thread but I just thought this might be a little relevant for new users.

Can I ask for some help about it?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. please forgive me for having poor grammar, english is not my primary language

I would suggest taking it over to the help threads.

On OPs note tho! glad your having some fun. but yeah beta is beta. and the devs are starting to release better and better patches.. took them a few times but they are getting it down pretty good.

Pretty new myself and i agree when you first join and your facing people with a few weeks more experience you get clobbered alot, they may benefit from a rookie option so new players dont get put off by their first few games.

Only met a few asshats so far, far lower than other MMO's i've played and i've been impressed by how nice the community is over all.

The bonus is fine i think by the time i was 25 games in i could afford my first heavy and equip it how i wanted and i'm sure most people could do the same.

Cant blame the company for wanting to make money though if they dont it'll fold and we'll not be playing for much longer, you can earn the majority of stuff in game which is fair, and im happy to support the company with my money as long as they dont go all EA on us and make it abusive.

MW doesnt really have a lot of asshats thankfully!
There are a number of teamspeaks up that you can use to get playing with groups.

And i belive the devs are working on a training grounds to so dont worry new guys! :(

Good post, but just wanted to address this, someone above me stated how new comers are facing people with weeks of experience. More like new comers are facing people with months of experience, and in some cases years of experience. So don't get too down on your self's.

I still sometimes lose awareness of my team's location and run in to die alone. It happens. :(

Yes Team Speak or teaming up in general does make a huge difference
Yes the game is BETA and is getting better
Yes the game is awesome
NO I dont think Noob automatically means your awful and will never get better- noob=newbie
My current total income apparently is 75 Million cbills- balance is less than 3 million :(
My hangar has all Hunchbacks, 3 dragons and 3 Jenners- no hero

PS-
Started doing some multi drops this weekend- great bunch and some brilliant matches, also got owned so bad I was embarassed by my scrub ness
