So I kinda find the default key mapping a bit...inefficient, since keys are scattered all over the place. I made a few changes to the mapping which makes it more efficient, at least IMO. Only changed keys would be posted here.

Center Torso - X (because Z,X and C in this mapping are all movement related controls, and X happens to be in the middle)

Full Stop - C

Toggle Power - LCtrl (a button a bit further away from main controls so you won't hit it by accident)

Next Target - Q (a frequently used button, which should be placed somewhere very convenient. and because I like Battlefield)

Show Target Overlay - T (seriously, people rarely use that button until late game checking teammates' status. and its the initial letter.)

Free Look - LAlt (who use that?)

Override Shutdown - Z (a conveniently located button to spam)

Weapon Door Toggle - F (why not)

Toggle Zoom Mode - E (very convenient)

Adv. Zoom - R (close to normal Zoom)

Use mouse wheel for zoom mode (more intuitive).
If you do not want to hack game files, use my AHK script.
I use ALT for target (As fingers should sit over the main keys rather than having to move them).

You do not appear to have full stop mapped - it is a very useful key.

LCtrl to look around is very useful. eg I use it after launching missiles to have a look around while I maintain the lock.
Also, when trying to check if anyone is following you, you kinda need this key.

If you have a tilt-wheel mouse, I heavily recommend tilt left and right as your two vision modes (Heat and Night)

Personally I would have center torso as a mouse button, because it is a view affecting thing, so controlling it using the hand that controls view is more logical.

If you are serious about using your weapons effectively you should give your weapon groups some thought.
For example, with most setups I need 3-4 weapon group.
Weapon group 1: left mouse button
Weapon group 2: right mouse button
Weapon group 3: E
Weapon group 4: F
Maybe some of you prefer a different layout but on my keyboard everything beyond the "3" is hard to reach if you want to remain in control of your mech.

While I'm still stuck with a 3-button mouse, I figured I'm make my mouse buttons be something else than group 1 and 2:

Weapon group 1: 1 key (or Q)
Weapon group 2: 2 key
Weapon group 3: 3 key
Weapon group 4: 4 key (or E)
Weapon group 5: left mouse button
Weapon group 6: right mouse button

If you don't use JJets much, put full stop on the space bar. Works great for me. Also I use F group 3. I can't see needing a fourth group unless you're SRM and LRM on the same build. Personally I just run group 1 to arms group 2 to torso and group 3 anything that "Locks on", because chain fire is your friend.

My solution to weapon grouping: Never carry more than three groups of weapons ;)

Which is quite easy. Atlas: Lasers/AC/Missiles. Muromet:LGauss/RGauss/Lasers. Centurion: Arm/CT/Missiles. Etc.

I bind spacebar to weapon group 3 (usually missiles of some sort.)

Also, some people swap the reverse and full stop keys.

I use my mouse wheel for weapon groups three and four.
