They need a "lock arm reticle to torso reticle" toggle button. The other mechwarrior games had this.

No other mechwarrior game had separate reticules

To be fair to the OP, he has a point in that PGI could do more to increase player awareness of their torso twist positioning.

I mean, it does a pretty good job for the most part; but in the heat of battle, I have on more than one occasion become disorientated with my movement and direction. While I'll take responsibility for some of it; the reality is, it can still be improved.

For example, the distance from center axis indicator at the top part of the HUD (near the compass) could be repositioned/redesigned so that it's on the centerline of the HUD. Similar to how the arm reticle shows a distance from the torso reticle, the torso reticle could also show a line of some description (maybe a dashed or dotted line) to the mech's centerline; with an arrow pointing and growing the further it gets from the centerline.

Similarly, despite the audible mech torso twist sound, the audio feedback can be improved. If the player continues to try to turn as an example, it could have a gear slipping sound to indicate that it can no longer turn. It doesn't need to be too loud; on par with the AC/10 reload is about right.

also, I know there is a slight torso twist grind..

But you said there isnt any sound at all, so its legit that he points it out. And its very audible indeed.

I'm not sure if an acoustic-only torso-twist-o-meter is what works best, though - think of all the people with hearing problems. Personally, I'd like to have an indicator in the HUD. You can play this game deaf, but not blind.

.....
I know of the mild grindy sounding thing when u move your torso.. At the same time, I am fairly certain I didnt hear it at all today < i think i was in a spider> maybe its mech dependent? idk. Also, Im not saying audio only, Im saying add an additional audio cue to what is already in game..

I really like the idea of at least a cue when you reach max torso twist.. But enough about torso... I really care primarily about that arm reticle. ..

yes the hud is still lacking vital info; paper doll to bar graph toggles, slid bars for torso degree twist indicators...

i'm sure the devs read threads like these and will realise such hud toggles for different readouts and blocking readouts all together are very important and it may be built into the game.

sometime.

Not important in my book, i understand where my torso and legs are. I also know where i am aiming so changing the reticle wouldn't change the way i play. :) nice feature to think about but lets get on to the more pressing matters like what i am having as a late nite snack. :(

yep my mistake! worst goof i've made for a while. did the op knew or did i read wrongly??? i just don't pay attention i just know where i'm going, reading however requires more concentration at this time of night so meh goofing off i am.

the paper doll thing still stands. i'd love bar graphs for damage.

I just want the ability to color the reticles different colors, Yellow on Yellow with the Bloom Colored Yellow doesn't help on a yellow map

TARGET SIGHTED?

you know what/.... I didnt realize that... i know.. sounds crazy... but guess what... i went immediately to you tube... how can i miss this right? well , you can... I am looking at crosshairs... and if not that, for enemies.. THat torso twist indicator does nothing for me. At the very least its too subtle..
Nothing wrong with subtle if thats your thing.. but imo for something like xhairs.. its a detriment..
Also, put an audio cue in and i dont need to see anything.

ps. was right of you to point that out tho lllrpdude..
