Seriously, whoever decided this was a good idea was right, and deserves a cookie. Straight up 1/3 of the page was dominated by stickies, some of which of questionable value. Glad to see they will no longer taking up prime real estate and squeezing new content to the bottom and older pages...

I put in excess of 100 hours of work into those guides, so I am shocked and upset to see them go without explanation.

Sorry to see your work disappear into the black hole Vulpes, and I don't want this post to be interpreted as a jab at the sticky contributors either. Maybe a compromise would be in order -if stickies are put back up, consolidate them into a single post. That way people's work/info is not lost, but doesn't hog the page either, no matter how many there are.

Vulpes, I had a thought this morning that we could ask for a sticky thread where people looking to buy/upgrade a new PC could post and we could offer them advice on parts to choose for MWO (and other games), similar to the thread on Team Liquid for SC2 gamers (http://www.teamliqui...topic_id=137554). They have a "form" for people to fill out in the OP which allows them to give the best bang for buck hardware advice entirely tailored to the user.

This can be more work than it's worth, and still renders my work as almost worthless. I'm inclined to see if I can start a hardware support / eventual review site if I had support.

It an easy solution, have 1 sticky the links all your threads.
Also not good to see all of that fade away.

Right, when I had this Idea I hadn't seen that all the stickies had been deleted and I intended it to be an additional sticky not a replacement for all your work. Obviously having your own website to work on would take priority over a simple MWO thread too.

So who would support me in making a standalone hardware site?

Stickies are around for a reason, and are especially relevant in a topic with so much repetition as tech support.

Those threads basically encapsulated this forum, covering, in detail, all of the frequently asked questions we get around here (in the forum we wouldn't have without Vulpes in the first place).

So they just deleted the posts? Not just unpinned them? [redacted]? Man, I would be pissed if those were my threads I put so many hours into for free just to help people play this game. Was there any explanation given, or were they just [redacted] ?

I started a thread protesting the stickied threads removal here- http://mwomercs.com/...ipherals-forum/

Show your support if you feel the guide threads should be reinstated here.

I have no idea what happend! The threads are not simply deleted, but gone for good (yes, there is a difference).

Vulpes, did you try to contact support@mwomercs.com, so that someone with more rights then me could research what happened here?

I'll do what I can to at least bring those topics back.

I haven't heard anything yet, nor heard anything from Garth as of late. I'll try to see if he knows everything but with everything being flat out deleted without publicly disclosed cause or forewarning is a cause for alarm for me. If some of you guys would be willing to help out, perhaps we could get a website up and running outside PGI's administration, and after the fact we could partner. In any case, I really want an explanation.
