play and get mauled by numerous packs of 3L's competting for this new contest... or for tons of other cheese builds for that matter.

alot of people have them but dont play them all the time.. but now that theres some kind of contest incentive they are just gonna all come out of the woodwork...

Having a bad feeling that it's gonna be a cheez it or leave it weekend.

There is a banner for each weight category. You'll see 3Ls and such but regardless you're going to see people driving their best mechs, not junkers, trials or experiments. The good news is that you are going to see them in all categories so it'll be Cats, 3Ls, D-DCs and anything else that people feel they "do well" in, not *just* 3Ls. The bad news is that people are going to be out in their best trying to kill you as best they can.

Also remember, if they are playing for the event then they can't run in a group all weekend.

My reading of that was that while they were in group their scores would not be counted, not that they had to avoid grouping. Is there a clarification from the devs that I missed that requires no grouping at all?

Yup. It's a good weekend to group up with buddies and crush some dreams.
