Well, nothing wrong in meeting good players, but not so much fun when your team is 3 ECM and 300 tons underweight. Also when we tried 4-man teams, we got same team against us several times in a row.

Glad the folks complaining in this thread are able to read. They noted, in the command chair post, that this will still need to be tweaked and tuned. Have some patience with it, and if you can't be patient, then take a break.

It's a game, and a free one at that, and certainly not worth a number of the outlandish statement I see in regards to it. If you can't find enjoyment in what you're doing, then why continue to do it?

I hope so, since saying L2P (beyond the innate stupidity of that term) when you aren't being -allowed- to play by the Devs is just pointless.

When game designers are given passes on things like this, which would have gotten any of the rest of us fired from our jobs, it tends to make you wonder.

A game code is put in when it is known it will prevent people from playing the game? Yet it is still put in.

That isn't tweeked. That is flat out broken to the point of incompetence. And a Command Chair post doesn't excuse such a failure in the testing process. The same that let ECM into the game in it's current state, so it isn't an isolated incident.

ELO doesn't even match by weight class most the time now. I keep getting teams that face enemies that outweigh us by hundreds of tons. This is getting ridiculous. Works so far is a huge understatement and now matches end in even more of a one way stomp. I have yet to be in a close game.

I never said I'm giving them a pass. And if they don't resolve the issues being faced, I would call them to task for it. But the issues they are facing are ones of the nature seen in ANY large scale deployment of a new feature that can't be tested on such a large scale internally. It's the nature of the best that is software development. Unfortunately, so many people on here can't seem to wrap their heads around this and continue to rail against them.

I'm curious if the devs can talk about how mech builds (trial vs min/max mechs vs weight) play into MM?

I feel that half the equation is pilot skill which ELO covers, but the other half is what type of mech you have. A max build of full mech skills, Endo, DHS vs a trial mech is a huge difference and doesn't seem to be anywhere in the calculation for MM. It seems only the weight is factored in to-date which I believe does play a significant role in pug stomping. I know when I see a trial K2 I just charge on in after them vs a dual-ac20 kitty that I will run from and try to pot shot at 200m+ range.

So far so good; I have had to retry maybe twice each time I want to play; but the games have been alot better from what I can see.

Even one where it was 8 - 3 everyones mech was pretty beat and almost dead on both sides; even the other side commented on it being a close game even with the score. When the match was over most were over 150 on each side.

Ill take the minor annoyance of having to search for a game twice but have a nicely fought battle most often than not. Hopefully this holds up or gets better.

If threads that bash ELO and MM are being locked then ones that sing it's praises should also be locked out of fairness.

I don't know if it's been said yet (tt = tl;dr since page 3), but what if Elo is working perfectly? It may only the fact that your 8's are only as good as a random PUG. Who knows, there could be a LNW superstar or 4 in there just waiting to gundam you to oblivion... or it's a 1 hour old STN accounts in trial 'Phracts and you're terrible at robits.

If it weren't for the more vocal groups in these forums, I'm sure more people would join groups and those most vocal people would get their egos silenced (egos based on imaginary robots on the internets) by the crew of modest rockstars filling their ranks.

Just sayin'. Unwarranted self importance is a terrible disease that many of us denizens of these interwebs have had brushes before. Myself included... Once. It was yesterday tho. Now my KDR has a "-" in front of it. Thanks to that dev boosting the other teams' morale on the FC map yesterday, I had my face [REDACTED]! ALLLLEEEEEEXXXX!!!

Commando Love: Myself and two Lone Wolf members dropped into about 12-15 engagements today. I would say half were 8-2 or 7-3 wins for our side. But there were a few very competive matches. All in all, if I'm winning with PUGS, I'm a happy Commando. ;)

You were probably matched with pugstompers that have inflated Elos compared to their real skill.

Since they turned ELO back on, I have faced nothing but pugstomping premades. ELO was the one thing that would have kept me playing but it seems it's a complete failure from my perspective.

Time to take a break and play other games that are actually fun.
