Really sucks. This game isn't too grindy, you can definately buy a mech of your choice quickly after using the trials, and parts are pretty cheap, but modules are just rediculous. For average stat gain, you have to either grind a ton of GXP or exchange XP for GXP to get the module.

Ok, here's the really stupid part. You have to pay up to 6,000,000 cbills extra just to equip the damn thing. Seriously? If you are exchanging exp you pay twice--MC exchange or GXP grind plus Cbills that could easily land you a good mech--maybe two!--just for a module. That's ridiculous.

They are there for something for you to do when you have nothing left to do.
Don't like the grind? Spend 60 bucks like you would an actual game and put it into premium time.

The exchange using mc is what they are aiming for with this one. Also, the modules are expensive but can be swapped out from one mech to another. You really only need to buy it once to have it always.

Elite founder here, I DID pay in my sixty.

Modules are too expensive, period. I did not consider them AT ALL until this 'cheap XP conversion' sale.

I 'unlocked' the zoom, still haven't bought one. Two million for a badly pixelated mini window? Maybe if I put my gauss back together.

Welcome to endgame / gamma play content.

If you think the current ones are expensive wait until the good ones come out.

Not sure where you're getting with this? You seem to have been aware that the zoom is pixelated, and looking at the modules section it tells you how much each module costs before you spend the GXP to unlock it? I dunno.
I too didn't convert XP until this sale as well, but I don't buy anything unless it's on-sale. I spent $120 and I haven't received anything different in terms of modules. They all cost the same for me. I was also talking about spending $60 and putting it directly into premium time. I have not activated my premium time either. That comes on release day.
Anywho. What I got was capture time and sensor range modules. Try forking out 6 million for a module. I was totally fine with it.

It's worse on testers who have had to make multiple accounts. Imagine doing that four times over and more!!.

The Modules system works by requiring you to Unlock the ability to purchase a Type of Module with GXP in the Pilot Lab. You can then buy the Modules with c-Bills in the MechLab and equip them to your Mechs. This means you can buy 1 and then shuffle it between your Mechs as you so choose, or you can buy a few of them and spread them around your arsenal to speed-up your Logistics when you wanna change things up.

You do have to pay the 6million to "equip" one, but you're actually buying a chunk of equipment rather than paying a 6mil installation fee that has to be repeated every time you want a different Mech to get a Zoom thingie.

Don't touch my modules. They're literally the only thing I can spend money on.

Modules are supposed to be essentially 'end game content'. Basically they are small efficiencies that are designed to reward players who have played way too much of this game. After all they need something for these people to spend their money on. Alternatively they are for people who can't wait and want to spend real money on. This game didn't go WoTs route and make the end game grind for assault mechs so they put in modules. Don't worry they aren't all that powerful at any rate, I have several and rarely use them.

They have their uses and I am happy to spend GXP and C-Bills on them. They are not overpowered and most importantly do not add weight to your mech.

You can certainly play the game without them and everyone can eventually own them without using MC.

Cheers!

They are fine Ive only maxxed three mechs and already scored 35k gxp. Don't expect to get all the content out of this game after playing it for a month.

it's a "Free to Play" game with "micro-transactions"

you're either going to pay with time or money.

They are for those pushing to be elite. They're supposed to be very important to game play and they are important.
