With reguards to factions maybe we could have it work like this.........
People who join a particular faction have access to a limited selection of Mechs and Weapons but get them a bit cheaper.
People who play as Mercs get a wider selection of Mechs and Weapons but they are a bit more expensive.
it should be maybe 5-10% cheaper or more expensive.

Game economy mechanic.

Did not sombody state that all mechs will be available? Same would probably be true for the weapons. But maybe the cost difference sheme might be implemented 5-10% also sounds reasonable to me.

What I mean is e.g. the Dragon is a DC Mech so should not be available to Steiner/Davion etc, also there is an Archer variant that is only available to the Wolf's Dragoons.

I wouldn't mind so much the limitations of certain chassis per House/Faction....and the Mercs having to go thru a "black market" or aligning oneself with a certain house long enough to get a chassis they want.

Everyone can get every mech, but there will be discounts for certain chassis depending on which house you're in.

As long as there's no trading of Mechs between pilots...
Besides, I wouldn't accept any Mech until they showed me the Kitfox report first.

Even in the "real Btech universe" Anyone could get any mech. Think about it, Solaris VII. How many Battlefield "wrecks" were left behind for a scavenger to get parts and sell em off? Mind you it would be easier for a Kurita Pilot to get a DC mech, just on principle, but no impossible.
