I had the "crash to mechlab" very often no matter what I tried. I figured out, that it is a netcode problem.
I tried a VPN program out of curiosity and selected a server in NY (closest to PGI servers in the list)
Guess what, not a single crash to mechlab since. Maybe it is worth a try for you guys, too.

I'm not sure how to use a VPN to connect to their server. Can you explain in more detail please. Thanks

I tried a vpn yesterday to see if it would work for me and it does! cost 10$ a month its called hide my *** pro vpn. I'm not to computer savy and it was pretty easy for me.

That would have been PGI's money if they could get thier **** together.

Hope this helps people it helped me.

Is there another program that doesn't cost $10 monthly? Is that program just to lower your ping? I don't think my ping is the issue since its usually around 30-50 when game starts.

have this issue randomly as well, can never predict when it will happen, could happen literally anywhere from after loading screen to before you click exit game at end of a match.

Im having the same issue. Go into a match couple of minutes in it crashes. Tried support , they didn't help stating they will forward this over to the dev's. I might of found the solution for me. Normally Im connected via ethernet cable to ubee router/modem form TWC. But I tried playing of my verizon phones tethering internet and it worked with no crash. From what it looks like it most be some thing with the networking of this game.

New to the game. My roommate has been playing it for days and hasn't experienced these crashes. Myself and my other roommate installed it tonight to try it out and we've both been constantly crashing to mechlab. Out of seven attempted games, only I was able to complete one. We get no error messages and both have very high-end powerful gaming systems, but mine has an AMD graphics card and his has Nvidia, so I doubt this is a driver-related issue. Training mode never crashes, which leads me to believe this is a netcode problem. It appears that the server believes we have voluntarily disconnected from the match.

I've researched the issue online and found several threads with multiple pages of people, each, reporting the same issue with myriad attempts to resolve. Several have said that support claims it's a known issue that's being worked on, but there's no official post, explanation, or warning describing what to expect or what to do if it happens. Is this the support I should expect from IGP? This is my first interaction with their company and so far I'm extremely disappointed.

The bigger problem at hand is that there is no way to rejoin after losing connection. This is a failure in programming in my opinion, as crashes or disconnects will inevitably happen and losing control of your mech for 5-20 minutes (and probably losing the match for your teammates) is completely unacceptable. A game that's not even playable 50% is useless.

Unless these issues are resolved, we're two players who were interested and ready to enjoy Mechwarrior who will be uninstalling the game before even getting to know it.

Re-installed the game yesterday after not playing a while and everything was sweet. But then a few hours ago I started getting crashes to desktop. In the last hour its become stupidly frequent.

Defo a link with my connection to the server being cut and the crash and its *** all to do with my connection which is pretty spot on. Games are being ruined because you see people getting DC'd in the first minute of the match. Funnily enough, all my crashes in the last few hours have all happened within a minute of the map starting!

So some how I have to eventually pay to play this game while also paying for internet and a VPN internet to play this game? I lost 25 days of premium because of this game crashing on me but more money will fix it not the DEVS?

I suffered from this issue too. It was so bad I'd end up back at mechlab 50% of the time or more each play session.

Tonight however, I moved two settings into play that I had not yet attempted. Vsync and Full Window Mode.

I had previously been running with Full screen. No Vsync.

Hopefully this will help the many of you with WHY THEY HECK IS THIS CRASHING? Issues.

The results so far have been promising with 10 matches without the mechlab or crash to desktop issue.

I had this problem, re-installing worked for me. For some reason I was crashing on specific maps; Caustic Valley, River City Night and Frozen City. I also changed resolution.

I hope this helps you.

I love the game and will probably keep playing it, but I have to admit that I enjoy the World of Tanks user experience much more. The fact that crashes and disconnects occur is simply a part of online gaming. Not being able to reenter a match just seems absurd. In World of Tanks, I can exit and reenter a match with one of my tanks dead or alive and spectate or keep playing as applicable. Why not have that approach to MWO?

Also, not really a part of this thread, but on the off chance any devs actually read this post, can you make a Team Deathmatch option? I'd wager that 90% of your user base would rather fight than have captures occur while trying to fight.

Throughout the weekend and today got nearly a 50:50 crashrate to mechlab. Thought it was my nvidia driver, but changing the driver to several versions did not change anything.
Activating my VPN (VyprVPN) got 100% rid of this problem. I'm on cable in Germany.

The most disappointing part is, that there is no error message, no nothing.

This seems to be a serious network problem and should be fixed pretty quickly. It's ruining this game.

Just played five games, first game crashed right after I won it, mech was "ingame" for a while afterwards, and nothing earned from the game. Second game, screen map didn't work and had color glitches, the arrow/facing arch wasn't working. Third game, no one registered as a target, friends and foes didn't pop up any information, so no missles could lock on. Fourth game, every few steps I would just randomly seem to pop up or back up back to where I was a few minutes ago, or just seem to walk a random direction instead. Fifth game I could target enmeies but no mech info came up, so no locking on, and then I started to jump around randomly with every step.

So after 5 out of 5 barely playable games, I'm going to have to call it a night, seemed to work pretty well last night, but now it's just frustrating.
