There is heaps of feedback about this guy being thrown around so I just want to see what the most common opinion is.

This poll assumes any variant.

So, how is it?

Played one match with it on my friends profile. It wasn't so bad, scored 231 damage (or something). For that I'll give it a 6 but I'll change that vote if I like it or not.

it's an interesting mech, but it feels too much like the centurion with it's parts swapped around.

not that I don't like the Centurions and Trebuchets, but If I had my choice, I'd go with the Cent over the Bucket

I've had reports that it's extremely squishy, might buy one and give it a trial.

About a 7.
It kinda obsoletes centurions completely.

Edit: I misread patch notes, 5 energy hardpoints, what?

I guess the 3 missile/3energy/JJ variant is the one to go with, but that's funny.

Gave it an 8.
Would improve if the hardpoints were symmetric and it was a 55ton mech.
Otherwise, I love it.

Total let down. I can't pilot it with a Standard Engine, which is the only type of engine I have. So I wasted 15 million c-bills buying two of them. 1/10. Worst 'Mech I've bought. I might give it a try when I can afford an XL.

But two of them come with XLs already, and surely you've at least one useful XL in storage?

I don't know about that. The Trebuchet is basically a huge walking hitbox on legs. It's super easy to hit and it's wide body makes it extremely vulnerable to LRMs/SRMs/LBX strikes. In terms of missile-boatability there's only one variant that can match the CN9-A, but it lacks the CN9-A's ballistic hardpoint (which can jack up your firepower in a pinch). The treb does have better placement of hardpoints though, allowing for large energy weapons to be carried (which none of the Centurions can do).

I wasn't enjoying my TBT-7M until I found out that just about half the armour has been stripped off! Maxed that, now it's better.

I got rid of both XL's so I could afford to outfit both of them, blissfully unaware that I would need them. And no, I am an avid hater of XL's. The only XL I use is the 360 for the Dragons, which only fits in Dragons, and the CN9-D. I could fit it in the Trebs but it's much too large.

Ouch, never sell your engines, you only get 50% back and for instance the XL300 in the 3C is hugely useful in many other mechs (Jenners, Catapults, Cataphracts, Stalkers).

I know. I don't like Jenners, Cats, Phracts, and I use a ST300 to brawl in my Stalker, but yes, I've learned my lesson.

Mech gets rated at 3.

I might change it if I can ever get a map besides River city night. Then again...we can't expect miracles....

Also, I have been trying to use LRMs of the variants that have them. Like the 7M and the J. Both are serious let downs so far.

The 7K seems to be ok I guess but since I own all the cents and all the hunchies, I don't particularly want more brawlers....So setting them all up for in your face brawling defeats my purpose for buying them.

I've been really enjoying my 7M, so I've given it a 8 at the moment. Once I start piloting my 5J and K I'll be able to give a more definitive response.
