as an extra incentive for people to buy premium time, you could offer discounts for people also then buying items with MC, like a flat 10-20% discount on all further MC expenditures when you have premium time running

maybe need a minimum amount of premium time on the account to stop people buying 1 day of premium just to get the discount - or staged amounts, so <1 week = 5%, 2 weeks+ 10%, 1 month+ 20%
