Elo And Scout Mechs

There needs to be points awarded for time spent capping a base. I don't feel like it's fair that I get no points for playing my role. Not everyone is supposed to be a brawler that does a lot of damage or get a lot of kills. Spider pilots especially are suffering because they can do so little damage, anyway.
PGI, can we get base caps calculated into ELO somehow? If not, then something's gonna have to give because your light pilots are going to have very low ELO numbers, even though they're good pilots and will be dropping with players with very low ELO scores for whatever reason (bad, new, farmers, etc). I can't say for sure how it's all going to play out, but I have a bad feeling about it.

No more fighting, just farming. Zero effort. Hold W and hump the oilrig.

It's apparently a very common myth that these terms are interchangeable.
Your Elo ranking is determined based on your wins, your losses and who you're winning and losing against. It is (well, will be) used for matchmaking purposes.
Your match score is determined by things like damage done and kills. It is used for sorting names on the scoreboard.

I just think people who go for cap are sad and boring.

Just like ranking systems OF ANY KIND! They turn people in to idiots, just take how people think the K/D ratio means there good! Get real will you!
A game, with a lobby where people can CHOICE who to play with and chat with each other is the winner in days of ELO/MM systems that just suck donkey! Is it too much to ask for, A 15-20 year old idea that had nothing wrong with it in the first place!

Yeah, its nice and easy..... if the opponent isn't doing their job. Otherwise its not, it'll just get you killed and drop your ELO. And given this 'farming' will be matching you against tougher and tougher opponents it'll really not be that effective (unless they give a HUGE elo boost for a single cap-win in which case ELO for lights will be all over the place)

How much effort does it take to actually look around and spot mechs? You get capped you deserved to lose for being unobservant.
The OP needs to realize his match score means nothing directly. He is getting a lot less C-Bills and XP for capping instead of fighting so it will take a bit longer to level up his mech but really if it wins the match it will advance his Elo.

I think people who can't stop a cap are clueless as to how the game works.

Also, as I did not know, I guess ELO is decided by Mr Blue Sky! (I mean win/loss ratio), so bases don't have to play a role in ELO, but should give some point benefit.

It's generally a good idea to inform yourself about the topic of your own post before you post it. These forums already have a bad reputation from people immediately vomiting their stream of consciousness into a post.
Edit: Elo isn't an acronym, it's a man's last name.

At least you are big enough to admit it when you are wrong. Better than a lot of folks.
Still a good idea to look around a bit before complaining about something or maybe ASKING instead of stating it. Something like, "does anyone think this might be?" or "I was thinking this... is that true?"
