I just played Alpine Peaks for the first time.
Suddenly my team was being attacked by the enemy team. Everyone else returned fire on a ridge, far away. I searched and searched but could not find a single enemy mech (even with advanced zoom or heat vision).
I saw PPC's and Gauss' and Missles shooting from "invisible" mechs on the ridge.
While walking closer to the ridge, they appeared one after another.
My graphics options are on the highest possible mode.
Using an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti with the newest driver version (314.07).
Anyone else made this experience in Alpine Peaks?

Yes the massive size of the map presents view lengths of up to 3k or longer.. this has brought to light the actor far clipping plane they have in place is set too short. It seems to clip them out at around 2500ish meters i think... but thats a ballpark guess will have to take more note on when i see one dissapear or appear on me..
guess they never thought to check that out.. oversight is a wonderful thing.

Pretty much what JadePanther said may help.
Although it could be map specific settings causing this (so only pgi could fix that) there is a few cvars you may be able to adjust. (If your PC can handle it)
Add those to your user.cfg and play around with them. See what happens.

e_MaxViewDistance = 2000 2000 = 2000m
e_ViewDistRatioCustom = put a number here View distance ratio for special marked objects (Players,AI,Vehicles)
Add those to your user.cfg and play around with them. See what happens.

I just got off Alpine.. and managed to see this... Scored a hitmarker on a enemy that was not visible with an ERPPC.. the hill he was on was right abouts at 1500m.

Re-Checked it in the last match.
Mechs seem to disappear around 1000m distance. But thats only in Alpine Peaks it seems... (?!)
Thanks for the feedback. Will try that user.cfg workaround

so far no dice on e_maxview up to 5000 or with the e_viewdist to 200..
on another note i've found something out the target range indicator.. seems that aimed at a certain loc it jumps from 2500 to infinite.. and no was still aimed on a land based point.
