If you paint it white it will redraw the maps, lord it over all the other mechs, and eventually collapse while leaving it to younger mechs to sort out. Kind of like Europe :-0

I was kind of hoping it would go on to do buddy movies with Wesley Snipes. A Trebuchet would have made robbing a subway car waaay easier.

The in cockpit view is higher than it should be.

if you look at an other trebuchet from inside one you actually see over his head.

If this is true, then this is a non-trivial bug with that chassis. It needs to be reported and fixed, as it suggests that the camera is located above the mech's actual chassis, providing a potential for abuse of LOS.

Sorry - didn't annotate. Here we have the Centurion (blue), Hunchie (red) and various Assaults (black), with the green box being the approximate size of the Trebuchet.

That is still a pretty crappy size for a medium... same goes with the Cent.

its cool that mediums get to be as tall as assaults. but why don't light mechs get to be as tall as heavy mechs.

wouldn't it be cool to have a light mech as big as a dragon. and go just as fast?

Agreed Trebuchet is too tall. Scaling matters the most to mediums because theyre neither fast enough to avoid damage nor have the armor of heavies or assaults. So when a medium is too big for its weight it tends to be very noticeable.

I really wish they would scale down cents and trenchbuckets to be around the size of the hunchback at the very least.

Im fine with some creative liberties. Like making the centurion shorter than a hunchback but wider. Or making the trebuchet taller than the hunchback but thinner. The point is all the medium mechs should have the same relative volume and currently they don't.

That's how it used to be before mw3/4 etc just look at the sizes in mech commander

If you look the Hunchbacks have a much wider torso, just saying, not to mention if the Hunch got any larger there'd be no point in ever playing a non SP due to the hunch dying.

I've walked up to other mechs in my Trebuchet. It is indeed taller than an Awesome as you can see over it. The only thing taller than a Trebuchet is an Atlas. Honestly the Treb shouldn't be any taller or bigger than a Centurion. The size of our recent medium mechs is making me look down upon the Blackjack and I will never buy another new medium mech again before fighting against it or waiting till a friend gets one first.

So, Trebuchet isn't as tall as an Atlas. It is instead about as tall as an Awesome, a mech 160% its weight, and making it a very close second-third tallest mech in the game (depending what you want to consider "top" of the mech, head or shoulders).

It's alright because...?

The hunchback is a quite a bit more "stocky" than the cent or bucket. Though all the mediums are a bit too large in my opinion, and the lights seem a bit too small. Where does a pilot even fit in the spider and commando? o_0

Commando and Jenner, 10 tons difference, roughly same size

Jenner and Cicada, 5 tons difference, roughly 30% bigger

Hunchback and Trebuchet, no weight difference, roughly 20% bigger

No idea how MWO mech scale works. I appreciate that certain mechs have a bit more "meat on bones" and others are lankier, but there seem to be dramatic differences in what "5 tons" means in terms of mech looks.

Then we end up with things like gigantic bullseye that is Centurion's right arm, or Trebuchet's Eiffel Tower-like legs made of magnets, neither having the armor to be able to afford such girthy hitboxes.
