You are sure it is not your loadout+armor values showing the tonnage value?
The loadout value is the total of all your gear, armor, ammo, etc.
A mech will weigh more or less, depending on what you put on it.
Having it weigh less doesn't affect anything though.

Nothing is changed with the loadout between the two cases. I click armor up, tonnage goes down. I click armor down, tonnage goes up.
It was annoying because I had balanced my dragon's armor to hold an extra ton of ammo and the numbers weren't adding up again.

Oh ok, it might be a bug then. You should probably have put your thread in bug reports, not suggestions :-)
