I could use some more input on this since i've only gotten Alpine once so far (looks at PGI angrily)
But when I brought up the "B" key map Alpine looked about the same size as Caustic. Then I noticed the map sectors didn't scale.
One square/sector on Alpine is about 800m (i think)
While a square/sector in other maps is about 200m (???)
This kinda threw me off as I was trying to make my way across the map.
Does anyone with more Alpine playtime have any better map numbers for me? How big is Alpine?

Scale. Key of B. At first I thought this was a music-based joke.
I didn't notice the sector rescale but next time I hit Alpine Ima take a peek. Actually last time I hit it I had the nomap bug so hopefully that doesn't happen for testing purposes.

You are right about the sectors its a bit more then 800m per square. While its a massive map and watching the fire from afar is sweet it is more or less king of the hill whomever can get to I think its D7 first and claim it will have LoS everywhere.

I did notice a scale difference too but can't get on it enough to check. 1st game I was in awe like a tourist.
Just ground out 6hrs. Never got it once. Did about 4 hrs yesterday and got it twice. Ice City and River City night-over and over and over. Throw in a Forrest once in a while. Caustic maybe twice.
Well below random odds. Changed mechs just to check and no good. ELO and the Gods of random have forsaken me. First time I have been aggravated by MWO. Like a bad relationship at this point: Is it me?

I think the squares on Alpine are closer to 1000m (1 km). It's a rough guess-timate because I (and the person I measure against) were not perfectly on the lines, but we were roughly the same distance away from the line.
I agree that it's 200m on the other maps.

petty sure if it was the same scale as the other maps it wouldn't fit on screen, and scrolling to find what you want is bad.....
