I just started to skill up my Loup de Guerre today and it wrecks faces. That is pretty awesome considering it's in its basics and oh boy this thing wrecks assaults! So many 100ts that got rear cored by my TBT-LG today. Can't wait for my speed tweak and 2x modifier :lol:

As someone new to the game I wanted to try the treb and got the stuff required for the first AC20 build in this thread but I keep getting isolated and I never get to bring my power to bear without being owned seconds later, does anyone have any noobie builds for the 7k?

Edit: as a note my ammo kept blowing up, someone just told me to get a case.

STD250 + endo + ferro + 4 tons of ammo(legs) + the AC20 and 2 ML
shave a little armor on the arms.

AC+PPC sniper

This is my current go-to setup with the 7K.
Has the same alpha as the popular ER PPC + Gauss,except you can do fast snapshots with it.3 weapon groups,1= alphastrike 2= 1 PPC AC5 3= PPC:s on chainfire.

Remember to be extra careful(no staredown contests) and constantly relocate and constantly shoot at something,AND TORSO TWIST,those shield arms are there for an reason.

Large Laser Range 5
MLaser Range 5 or Large Laser Cooldown 5

Mech:
Advanced Seismic Sensor
Target Deprivation

Consumables:
IMP Artillery Strike
Improved UAV or Cool Shoot 9

Thanks Norman, I'm a big fan of the x3 SRM4 on the Cent, I might try that out on my Loup. It tends to overheat on hotter maps, I could use the extra DHS and less heat from the 4 rather than 6.

Try the 7k with 2 large pulse lasers and one UAC 5

Treb 7K, 2x AC5, 2x ML, xl 275, 5 tons of ammo. Endosteel, standard armor, dhs, with no additional heatsinks it has a hm of 1.6/2

20% velocity and cooldown quirks on the AC5s plus t5 AC5 modules. Speed tweak 98kph.

Doesn't sound very nasty but both arms are shields, the rate of fire with the AC5s is terrifying. Does damage a lot faster over time than AC10-20. If you get off all the ammo and dual firing you should the ML and speed are still good in a fight if its not 1v1.
The speed lets it turn fight most lights, that's a lot of fun.

Great hill topper all weapons in decently high ST mounts.

Best tactic for this build is to hang out in the blob picking away between your teammates and when an enemy turns to run chase him down and tear his back out.
average 3-4 kills a match.
Got the 7K to level out the 7M but honestly like the 7K more.

I've played both 2LPL/AC5 and 2AC5/2ML on the 7K and I like the LPL's better. The problem with AC5's as your primary weapon is that trebs are too fragile for a staring contest and if you're not constantly firing AC5's you're losing out on DPS.

Now playing the 3c with 2 LRM 5, 3 MPL 1ML and a xL 360 engine so much fun.

You run as fast as a light around 128!

Reviving this thread here, since the Trebuchet got some little buffs with the recent patch.

Has anyone here tested yet, if those improvements are noteworthy?

What I find interesting is the 15% energy range quirk on the 5N, I consider to test 3 IS ER-Large on it.
To my mind, the medium-laser quirk on the 7M can be ignored mostly, because the missile quirks on the 7M are more important.
Right now, I am toying around wth equipping the 7k with 2 PPC / 1 UAC 5 due to the new 30% ppc velocity quirk

I still love the Trenchbuckets, even if the are 200 meters taller than necessary.

I really like the 7K, it's just so simple and uncluttered - very attached to the srm2 arm, feels like bringing a slingshot into battle, but great for that occasional killing blow.

treb 7k - I just went can to the old build 1 erppc and gauss 2 works fine just to hot for my liking.

treb 5n 3 Lpls around 456 range! as long as you dont make yourself the target loads of fun.

have try all the buids , not meta but funny , fast mech , sniper capability and high mounted hard points.
Those build with the 1 erppc + 1 gaus (need skill to use this last well) are the best i found for this mech.
If well used can do plenty of damage
( for build 2 and 3 zoom module and range for the large laser needed)

New weapons! New builds!

The TBT-7K can now rock 2X SNPPCs and 1X UAC10. Both weapons are among the best in the patch and the 7K has some wonderful quirks to boost them even further.

The TBT-7M can rock an MRM 50 and back it up with lasers or maybe an LFE if you need the durability. The Loopy Bucket and TBT-5N can run similar builds, but the 7M has better quirks for it and jumpjets.

The TBT-5J can't take advantage of the new ER lasers like most laser boats, but it can back up its IS STD light show with an MRM 20.

The TBT-3C is still awful.

Well, since a few days, I am driving my 5J more like its original loadut with a few little tweaks:

TBT-5J

And I have to say, this loadout suits me better then the overall STD-laser vormit that people prefer for the 5J.

The MRM-40 is a beautiful thing, but for me the STD Laser quirks are too fantastic to not go full-vomit.

I usually go with the 3LL+2ML, but after the ML nerf I'm considering 4LL.
