to many times have i seen a mate or myself suffer a corrupt file and have to reinstal the game because we dont have a copy of the file. it would be nice for the launcher to have a way to scan the files and download and replace only the bad files so a full reinstall is not a necessity

This is how you fix it:
http://mwomercs.com/...st-for-and-fix/
As PGI has locked and burried this thread rather than make it a sticky, having a launcher that automatically scans and fixes corrupt files won't happen, despite it being standard on every online game I've ever played.
If they know the problem and the fix but choose to ignore it, then they actively want to leave this problem in game.
Aside from this wanton act of stupidity on their part, I love the game.

Some sort of "Verify game cache / game file integrity" option would be great.

since early CB i never had ever a corrupted game file.
I even tried to modify the gamefiles manually several times (proof of concept things) and never had a failed game launch!
Interesting
What are you doing to get your game files corrupted?
Maybe you have a damaged harddrive? (HDD surface error, SSD firmware bugs)
try: ->chkdsk c:
to scan for filesystem errors
and
-> chkdsk c: /f /r
to repair it.

Let's get this implemented Piranha. It's not that hard.
