On a side note, people that don't know what the word "nerf" means should really stop using it. "Nerf" means to make something pointless and useless, so that it has zero impact and/or does little to no damage, like being hit with a Nerf™ ball. It's never a good thing and has nothing to do with balance.

And how would your "competent" self balance missiles? Reduce the damage back to where it takes 500 missiles to take out a mech?
Decrease the missile speed so they can be outrun again? (and never reach the target?)

What would You do?

Yes, it was a good step to add the EMP effect to the PPCs. It is enough to balance ECMs? No.

Seems now that ECM is so easily countered by the newly buffed PPCs and ERPPCs, nobody brings it any more, and therefore we have the return of the Missile boat.

Agreed. If the PPC's carry a true ECM effect it would disrupt all of the mechs electronic systems including their ability to lock onto targets. I think they should have an added effect of the computer screens in the cockpit going all screwy when hit with an EMP effect as well. I would say the targeting reticule goes fuzzy or dissapears but that would result in a EMP lock and people would inevitably cry about that to.

At this moment only the Atlas D-DC's are PPC bait.
The ECM Lights are still annoying.

And to add a real EMP effect to PPCs, sounds valid; scramble missile locks / ECM and your map.

Just make a PPC shutdown everything, mechs included, for a city block. Thats only like a hundred or so meters anyway.

No. At that point PPCs would be preferred over all other weapons. The PPC changes have already killed ballistic weapons other than Gauss. Almost everyone is running PPCs now instead of Ballistics.

Just wait until everyone figures out the counter to the PPC ecm counter.

Want a hint?

Bring more ECM...bring ECM all the time have all mechs always with ECM.

They can't hit all 8 mechs every 4 seconds with PPCs and ecm bubbles are huge.

Hit that Atlas,take it's ECM down...big deal there are 4 more standing behind it.

Better yet try hitting a swarm of ECM lights with PPCs often enough to make a dent before they focus streak you to death.
120 unavoidable damage every 4 seconds that gravitates to torso sections!!!

Confirm. I've been so stupid to choose Catapult as my founder's mech. Completely useless. Best result was killing a Commando which came after me. Killed with DAMN MEDIUM LASERS from point blank distance, because LRMs ARE COMPLETELY USELESS and I never killed anything with them. Enemy targets dissapper faster than I have a lock on them so I have to spot by myself. And then enemy just walks behind the house and I'm dead meat because I have no targeting and stand open.
Then, all of a sudden I take trial Catapult K2 and score 3 kills and 2 cripples in a single combat. With ping being close to 200ms. Hey, I'm not gonna use crappy LRMs anymore. Give me clan Warhawk - I just want to one-shot anyone with a PPC salvo like in good old MWs!

Yo, Muller, I made a jump sniper build for the CPLT-C1 (F).
It's not a very serious build but it beats a pure LRM boat for a solo player, that's for sure; give it a try if you still want to grind C-bills and XP with your Founder's 'Mech.

Still pretty damn rare; I've only even seen one other player using one.
