I never use the regular PPC anymore.

Either of the other two... or a gauss rifle are nice.

AC20. you do have to get close but you save on heat (LOTS) and crack the same amount of damage into one point every hit. yeah you have to pack more ammo, but with PPCs you have to pack more Sinks so, that sorta balances out. Opinion is mine YMMV.

PPC: Moderate heat, good damage, long range with minimum hit range, fast cooldown
ERPPC: High heat, good damage, able to hit close range with extended long range, fast cooldown
AC/20: Low heat, high damage, moderate range, slow cooldown

If you ask me I would say the AC/20 is the most "versatile".

I could be wrong but I'd assume a Stalker would be best to boat PPCs. I run a 4 PPC Awesome mech and it does alright. As for AC20, you'd have to go for a K2 Catapult to get two of them.

AC20: CPLT-K2
(ER)PPC: CPLT-K2, CTF-3D (with Jump Jets!) for two PPCs, AWS-8Q for three, Stalker for 4+ (expensive)

Nothing can boat an AC/20, not only because of its weight but the amount of slots it takes. You could use a Stalker to boat ERPPCs but you would generate more heat than you could handle. I wouldn't recommend boating either of these weapons.

(I'm assuming boat is 3+)

"Boating" two AC20 on a CPLT-K2 deals 40 damage though - the equivalent of 4 PPCs.

With much much less heat.

What is wrong with you people? Really falling down on the job, here...

Don't be 'that guy' boating AC/20's. You should feel terrible. May you be ever only land on Alpine from henceforth...
