Now that ppc's kill ecm, is tag finished...
Apparently, tag does not stack with Artemis, and I find using ppc's to cut through ecm far superior to tag...

I still use tag, ripping people up with my founder's cat. Would have to sacrifice too much to get a PPC in to the build, and it would wreck my heat. It's good to have the option though.

No. My Jenner runs without a PPC so I need the TAG. On other mechs, my aim isn't so good. Sky is still up.

Well, if everyone and their mum is using Artemis these days*, then TAG would indeed be somewhat useless, especially given its limitations and the risk factor. However, you may come into a game where Artemis is not standard, or where nobody has a PPC, or where the PPC-'Mech is elsewhere/destroyed.
I'd say that, all in all, it has not quite achieved the Narc-level of uselessness, it's just gotten a bit closer. Perhaps if its tonnage were lowered to 0.5 and/or it would become equipment rather than an Energy Weapon (lol) it could help?

TAG is more reliable, weighs much less, and generates no heat.
I can't fit a PPC on my trebuchet without losing quite a bit of speed.

Ya, I suppose you could save two tons from Artemis and slots on a mech with dual lrm slots, and then rely on tag to get it done, accepting the trade off for increased risk... but ppc's are so good in there own right.... maybe not done, no...

TAG is 6 tons lighter and produces no heat. I'm sure someone will find a use for it. Say, someone whose tonnage is already devoted to LRM pods...?

Only TAG fits in those weird head energy slots some of the Mechs have (in terms of ECM countermeasures).

I will never be able to fit a PPC into my treb with the LRM loadout that I want so I have TAG.
This is just weight. I can't imagine how hot it would get too.
