Curiosity got the best of me, so I took a moment to punch some numbers together in Excel.

Assaults: Kohabi won it fair and square, most matches by far of those doing a decent Points/Game. Shout out to Alex Gorsky for highest Points/Game, well done man!

Posted Image

Heavies: "Lord Azurescens" shows as a complete statistical outlier with an awesome Win/Loss to Points/Game ratio. You were herding the sheep, even without necessarily carrying the team. Nostram gets a shout for much higher Points/Game in the top-ten.

Posted Image

Mediums: Za Warudo, mopped the floor! Great number of games, killer showing throughout! (Share your loadout please?!)

Posted Image

Lights: "miGu", flat wearing it out on the Points/Game and Win/Loss (no disrespect for the tourney leader) same for "Ehose" and "Rad Hanzo" Cheers!

Leaderboards can be found here: http://mwomercs.com/tournaments

The tournament was a great experiment. It's not really a good indicator of skill though as those with higher ELO's would naturally score lower.

I did something similar with the top three from each type/class. I found the lights points per game (ppg) interesting.

If I had to guess, my thoughts on the lights PPG would be something along the lines of "Raven3l+ecm=Spotting+Assists Galore!"

IDK enough about the score they're coming up with to say whether spotting assist could really make that big a difference. I tend to assume it isn't a factor.

For those of you like me, who only played a limited number of games, figure out your PPG and see how you stack up to these guys. I'm sure there is a point at which PPG stabilizes, probably something like 50 games (complete WAG) and once you get to that point, you're gonna get a good idea of how you stack up against other players.

I ended with 1.63 ppg in my Jenner which should put me above most of the lights in general, but because I only ended up playing about a hundred games I'm nowhere close to anything (something like 120 after being 20th the first night).

1.63 is quite nice, if you were able to put in the same time as the top light guy... you may have beaten him. :P

Looking at the win-loss-ratios it seems that not everyone's Elo rating has reached the correct value for the different mech weight classes. I assume it's easier to accumulate score-points in a match your team won, therefore normalizing the score per match with the win-loss-ratio (or a factor derived from it) might be a better metric.

And the tournament winner Broceratops ended up with an overall PPG of 1.24 (via a combined 602 points over 485 games.) Seems like a pretty good PPG for four different mech types.

Doubtful, I have you know, respect for myself, and wouldn't get caught dead in a 3L. And I have a wife who is far more important than this game, and wonderful enough to allow me to do an almost all nighter Friday to see how high I could climb in about 10 hours (20th).

What is insane is that people were able to play 485 games in a weekend. Lets say the average game is about 7 minutes, thats like 56 Hours of gaming over a 3 days period. I'm just a little bit jealous.

Just for kicks I've done averages for the top 25 in each catagory:
Catagory - Win percent - Points per game
Lights - 1.65 - 1.49
Medium - 1.26 - 1.20
Heavy - 1.31 - 1.19
Assault - 1.38 - 1.19
