New Vision Modes Not Final - Feedback

Ah the Joys of the Hotfix!

So as some of you have noticed the new vision modes are half implemented.What do I mean by half?
The Shader that the modes use got compiled for the patch on April 2nd and slipped into the hotfix yesterday. The other half of the Vision modes is in the rendering code that control that shader. so the vision modes you are seeing are not the final product.

How did this get past QA?
Well the nature of a hot fix is to change very little and only test your changes. We focused solely on the Missile damage changes and no one used Night vision or Thermal during testing. If we had caught this it would not have gone in.

How will we avoid this in the future?
We are adding better version control on our shaders when creating release builds.

What are we going to do about it?
We are going to revert the shaders in a minor patch (soonTM) and Implement them properly in the next patch April 2nd. There will be no downtime for this minor patch.

Thanks for the heads up.

I don't suppose it would be possible to just leave it in till the shaders are fixed?

It still looks better than the old vision.

I'd like it if you leave grey warriors in for now. No one really uses the nightvision, so that it became more bloom won't affect people, but having less bluewarriors online's nice.

I'm all for you guys doing multiple hotfixes after a patch to fix/add things its a step in the right direction for a change.
This is a beta after all that's how it should work not one patch every 2 weeks with suffering through quickly fixed issues in between .

how about try to test everything changed during QA

lovin the initiative of adding tweeks before deadline though.

I don't understand. The vision modes looked the same after the missile hotfix, and only look different after today's patch.

thanks for the early vision update but I think its not working as intended. Thermals are nearly impossible to use on frozen city because you can not see mechs againts the entire white map and night vision is also unusable on rivercity night.. ice isnt supose to show up snow white on thermals it should be black at -85 celcius...Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I highly enjoyed getting to see that new preview of thermals and am definitely looking forward to the full implementation come April 2nd. Also interested in how night vision will play out then as well, but I know thermals definitely were a large improvement already, even if the work on them wasn't complete.
