3rd person will ruin this game, I thought it was a simulation not an arcade game. I can play Mech Commander for that.

The poll seems unclear to me, as there is no suggestion to agree or disagree with in the OP.

Are everyone who are voting yes saying they want 3rd person view added to the game? If so, your poll doesn't reflect the amount of negative posts I've seen regarding 3PV, so that's why I am puzzled.

Edit: I do see why you would want the poll added to the original thread since most people will be looking there though. Just seems more realistic to make a poll on your own about the issues you have with the thread.

I disagree in that we already had numerous polls, each of which showed an overwhelming majority of the players being against 3rd-person.
But because everyone reading the forums seems to be considered "a core group that isn't the majority of the player base", those votes count sh*t.

There have already been 2 polls on the subject, and in both of them 3rd person view lost by a landslide.

Don't think too hard about it- down that path lies madness. They've specifically said they don't want to split the playerbase because that's "a bad thing" when it was suggested in terms of splitting premade teams and PuGs, then after harping on what "a bad thing" splitting the player base is, they've decided it's the ultimate solution to giving the Easy Button crowd their 3rd person.

Ah, nope. That's #2. The biggest poll so far is the one that got mysteriously deleted, the one you've linked is basically an attempt to recreate it. The one that got "disappeared" was on the order of 4500+ against, 190 in favor.

I voted yes as support, but I think it is over. We are going to get, it does not really matter if we want it or not that much was made clear. So I say play the game for now and enjoy it while we still can.

If what you say is true (and I can see no evidence to refute you) then that means there is no point in asking for feed back from us and if this is true then the game is not really in Open BETA. huh.... who would have thunk it?

The devs are aware of our views, a poll is not needed. I would guess feedback from non-forum users suggests that having a 3rd person view is the way to go. The devs previously said they didn't want 3rd person so they wouldn't be doing this unless they had a very good reason.

Of course they listen to our feedback, but this forum isn't the only source of feedback. And forum warriors wanting something doesn't make it a good business decision. Wait for it to come then give constructive feedback on the issues it creates. Repeating the same poll over and over again achieves nothing. The devs saw and acknowledged the first one.

I just wonder where they get that feedback. The most logical way would have been to have a poll in the actual game client, so every single player sees it. That didn't happen. They also did not ask in any of the social medias. Another way would have been to email all/random players and ask. But to get a telling result they would have had to send out about 50.000 mails I guess. It's very unlikely that no one here got one of those and didn't tell it on the forums.
So how do they know that anyone here would like 3rd-person view?
Can you really imagine that more than 5000 people on their own sent a support mail asking for 3rd-person? I for one certainly can't.

There is already a poll on 3PV in the GD forum, it was at 1000 votes before Brian made his post. Find that poll and vote on it. I don't need to spend my day voting and revoting on stuff that I've already voted on.
