Most of my experience comes from MW3, MW4 (Mektek Pack included), Mechcommand 1 & 2, a good number of novels I have, and my uncle who still plays.

I hated Dark Age though... I liked it until they started coming out with booster packs like every week, and changing the rules so I got rid of my Steel Wolves army.

Tabletop player here. Old enough that I had to look up what "unseen" meant. It looks like most of the 'mechs I knew from the tabletop game aren't allowed any more. ;)

All unseen truely means is the original artwork cant be used, they can be redesigned and brought to the game

Played the original PC game, MW2 and 3. Also played tabletop just after Omnimechs came out. I remember jumpjetting over a heavy and popping him in the back with an Ultra AC (double fired, of course ;) ) the first time I played TT. Fun times!

It was great seeing MWO and MWTac in development, as it forced me to dig out my ancient copy of Battletech. Now to find someone geeky enough to play it! It really has been a very long time -- 1985!?

The Battletech VR Pods

I never managed to get to a Dave and Busters before all the Tesla pods got pulled.
Seriously considered buying one when they were up for sale, but I didn't have the room for it.
Still regret never having gotten to try it. I consider that a huge hole in my Battletech CV. ;)

I wish I still had my printouts from the Tesla Pods. I think at one time there was site that posted all the rankings of the players who ever played them. Not so sure if its around anymore. Leaving the pods and sitting in the pilots lounge ordering a sandwich while watching the battle highlights on the monitors at Wizards of the Coast was a class act.

You forgot these:

http://www.sarna.net...Nova_Game_Books

which was my first exposure to Battletech. Then playing the TT for the first time in the late 80s.

The VR Pods...BOTH VERSIONS! Started with the ones outside San Francisco (Walnut Creek), Had a Blast. Played the TESLA Pod versions later, though for me and my friends it usually meant a 24 hour + Road trip just to play. Yes, we would Drive from Vancouver Canada all the way to Walnut Creek to play a few rounds of Battletech, then drive home...all in 24 hours. Of Course once some VR Pods showed up in Whistler (only an hour outside Vancouver) things were a little better. But with the VR Pods, nothing can compare to the frenetic CLICK-CLICK-CLICK of flipping weapon load switches in the initial minute of a 15 minute round of play.
