See this is what I was thinking, I did the google thing for about 20 mins before I posted this thread, I searched around, and the best guess I could come up with after searching was........ exactly this....... which begs the question.................... whats the big difference between the above type of camo and digital? Just seems very very similar if that is how it is going to look.

I think it was said that there was going to be a Digital 2 as well. The difference is, it seems to me, that fractal camoflage has larger areas of consistency. Where digital has apparently randomized 'bits' splattered about everywhere, fractal has 'patters'

Options are good. going to another topic, I remember a few months ago when the boards were apoplectic about there not being enough content or paint options. But if these things keep pouring out, the board is going to be 'more' on fire about how there should be more fixes and less purchasable content.
Like I said, options are good, and I'm smart enough to know that the people who make the camouflage are not the same people who squash bugs, but please, PGI, keep a little of this for later until you can get some other issues resolved. Just to shut those people up. Then you can make it rain cammo patters and cockpit items

Fractal camo doubles down on digital by including fractals to determine placement of the pixels to generate patterns which seem to disappear into the naturally fractal patterned world around them.

So if you consider through that perspective of aesthetics over function [cuz this is a game and there is very little in the realm of 'swag' for MWO], having 4 camos that all look pretty similar might be a little redundant when most people use them for vanity or individuality purposes rather than actually camouflaging... hope this makes sense.
I'm not complaining just saying; I hope that Fractal (and Digital 2?) have something about them unique enough to hit the purchase button. ^^

real world camo i think should be added even if it is similar due to the fact that different styles attract different people, i for one does not like digital but i might get fractal depending on how it looks. It is the subtle nuances that might push someone to or away from spending money. And let's face it there are not that many camo patterns in the world that are distinctly different.

It should yes, essentially be Digital, but with a different color node distribution. The current version is essentially evenly set random equal nodes. Fractal should have a main set with has the majority of the surface area covered, then a smaller set, then the smallest set.
Something to this effect as far as surface area coverage % goes.
Digital 33.33/33.33/33.33
Fractal 65/25/10
