i like the old damage effect better ;)

but maybe they decided it took too much time to make damage textures for every single mech?

I kind of like the new one better, but that's just me.

It makes sense for ballistic, but hopefully they change it so laser weapons have damage effects like the old way.

OP's pics are almost uselessly dark, but so far it definitely looks pretty crappy.

people can see them just fine. maybe you need to turn your brightness up

I'm kinda excited about the new damage visuals on the mechs...makes it easier to target an already damaged section...

I can see them perfectly. In fact I'm looking forward to seeing if this leaves a "trail" like some sniper weapons do in other games..

- The dropship thing on River City (upper area base) got moved forward a bit.
- The loading screen splash images have been cropped in for some reason. They looked better before.

Oh I thought it was gonna be some like defined fixes they did.

Instead it was some more, oh we fixed some stuff, stomped some bugs, oh and we added a new hero mech and trial mechs update... Three weeks, same story just another day.

Really losing faith for the franchise, trying to stay optimistic, really I am.

They already stated that the big fixes are coming on the 21st.

That's how it always is, BTW. First patch of the month is new hero mech, other MC goodies, alongside some minor fixes. Then the second patch is the big one (usually with new chassis entirely, big changes, new maps, etc).

Regardless, the May 21st patch is going to be pretty intense.

Why is it so dang hard to put these things in the patch notes?

And why do some people seem ok with a beta having 1 meaningful patch per month? So you expect 4-5 at the most meaningful patches before release?

Are you crazy?

Enemy mechs remain targeted a moment after they die.

Hey guys,

This is not an issue it is as design so people are able to see where they killed the enemy mechs.

Cheers

I'm a proponent for more detailed patch notes... But PGI feels most people don't give a crap about the little things, so they just put what they deem important in their patch notes.

"Meaningful" is a subjective word. I personally don't know how anyone wouldn't consider this patch to be meaningful.

There are a lot of big changes coming before launch, not regular things like more maps and mechs. Things like UI 2.0, Community Warfare, etc... I don't see how the number of patches makes any difference.

Are you crazy?

I think this patch is fairly crappy. And when I say that, the WKDF come back with "Well duh, everyone knows they do one big/meaningful patch and one MC item/small stuff patch".

Seems kind of crazy to have such low expectations.

I personally think even if you took every patch (8-9 of them) before release. It's not enough time for PGI to do what they are talking about.

They almost always have delays, and they almost always introduce new bugs with patches fixing old ones.

See below for my example of the "One crappy patch, one good patch scenario" that keeps being floated at me.

So are we saying that they are going to get UI2.0 and CW, along with the multitude of weapon/equipment fixes they need to do done in 4-5 patches?

They rly should repair that desynch/rubberband bug.It feels kinda weird running light at high speed and falling down from hills and rocks 3 times longer than expected, unable to turn in air(It is logic but I can not move with upper torso or arms)...and seeing other mechs falling like they teleport each 3-5 meters down.

All that says is WKDF agrees with you on what is considered "significant"

seems crazy to expect anything different than what we have been getting. At least as far as the regular stuff like hero mechs, cockpit items, maps, mechs, modules, etc. the big things like UI 2.0 and CW will get put in when they are ready, they will be the "more significant than usual" patches

they could do it all in one big patch if they wanted to, the number of patches is irrelevant... I think 4 months is plenty of time to do what they are planning. A lot of the work is being done in the background and will be pu in when it is ready.

welcome to game development

nope, two patches a month, so 8-9 patches.

Your last line of this post says you barely skimmed my post and didn't really read it. That's disappointing from you.
