Hey there.

I decided to turn my second favourite mech into paper model. As you can see detail level is pretty high again. I spare you no detail. :D

Awesome, looks like it's already coming along great! what do you think the dimensions will be when you're done? (6 inches tall, one foot tall....)

I dunno. I'll try to make it in scale with my Atlas. so perhaps around 15-ish cm?

I would say around 18 cm since the Atlas is around 33 cm

I think I agree with Dopenudist, 18 cm would be about right.

Love it that you are making new designs, I'm still in awe of the atlas.
Printing the founders one as soon as I get some cartridges. ;)

FANTASTIC! Is that all from scratch or did you import the models from game to start with?
Also, what is your modeling programs and what will you use to convert to the paper craft file?

I'd love to take a crack at one. This way if many people are working on it, we can get em all quicker. Yeah, I'd love to have the resin/plastic/3D-printer ones, but not really in my budget.

I'm going to venture a guess and say he used the mechwarrior online game models as a template then modeled a simpler less detailed version over it. or he used orthographics generated from the game files.

parman01

May I suggest the following :

Since pepakura designer / viewer (the non high res version) only supports 1024x1024 texture size, perhaps split the Raven into a upper and lower textures. That way we will have a nice high res model to print. Hell, you can even split it into more like torso, guns and legs.

So you will have 2 or 3 textures within pepakura that is 1024x1024 instead of only texture of 1024x1024.

Also, when you are making the texture, I assume you do the detailing first then the grime with the camo right at the bottom. It would be nice if you can release the paper model with PSD or what ever you used to make the textures, that way the community can create their own camo and apply it in pepakura.

Once again great work.

This is interesting idea. I'll look into that.

I liked the way you did it with the Atlas.

I used the .PNG files for printing and the PDO that i could look how it fits together.
But if you can make it like BLaaR sugested it someone can scale it up or down.

Keep up your great work. I can´t wait to build this little bird.

Patience please :( I'm working on it.

Got detail pass. Still needs a little bit of tweaking but major details are already popping out nicely.
