I fully understand that jump sniping was producing an undesirable meta game for everyone and that something had to be done to mitigate the dominance of Highlanders with high damage/pinpoint/ranged alpha strikes. In my opinion JJ shake was not the way to balance the game, as the problem was with PPCs from the get go. Moving PPC heat up and making PPCs spread their damage between a direct hit and splash damage (6 damage direct and 4 damage splash) could easily make pop tarting a much less dominant strategy. Furthermore, adding additional penalties for overheating can also help bring PPC boating under control. As it stands JJ shake is an extremely annoying fix that has made piloting jump capable lights and mediums a nauseating experience. In my opinion weapons balancing should be dealt with by balancing the weapons themselves, not breaking an unrelated and fully functioning game mechanic.

Cheers,

Beef Hands

JJ shake was one of the best things to happen to this game. Motion sickness fix incoming soon but JJ shake needs to stay.

PPCs will be re-balanced so to speak by way of revamping the heat system.

I don't mind PPCs as they are, or reticle shake, or random damage spread. Any of it. But for me, the camera shake has got to go so I can play my beloved Spiders again, not to mention the JR7-F C I just bought with Cobra camo and colors. My Blackjack's are a little more bearable, but still rather unpleasant, which is a shame since I was really digging those mechs a lot before the camera shake was added.

They've already stated they are going to tone down the visual effect; many of us are pushing for less shake on lighter 'mechs.

I realize there are many players who enjoy the shake from an immersion stand-point and who feel unaffected by it from a motion sensitivity one, so I kind of hope they keep it in as a toggle effect that you can activate/deactivate in the options or something.

Could you link the dev post, video or wherever the heat revamp was detailed/mentioned?

hey devs, have you considered that excessive screen shake can lead to several adverse neurological effects such as Ocular Migraines?

it would be interesting to see if any die-hard poptarts develop any adverse symptoms after the jj nerf.

Anyone still poptarting already has his set of problems of his own, lol.

Doesn't matter I've pretty much lost faith in this game regardless of what they do. This game has far more problems then excessive screen shake.

It needs to be playable, and it needs to be removed from lights. Aside from that, it seems like a logical thing to me. Keep!

Beef hands is a far better player than you, and in one of the best units. You would be the one crying if you were even good enough to match up at his Elo level.

I didn't comment on his ability to play, so your juvenile "my dad can beat up your dad" comment is void.... I'm sure beef hands is more than capable of coming up with his own retort.

Nope screenshake should stay. If you have medical problems with this sort of thing you should probably just
- Not play computers. Seriously. Effects like this are prevelant in LOADS of games.
- Not fit JJ? Crazy I know.

Meh - perhaps the DEV's can do some accessibilty magic to make it less nausea inducing for the small number of affected people. But as a gameplay mechanic it's great.

I'm light pilot and I love to use JJ for strafing/shooting in mid-air but.. I voted NO, because heavy/assault jumpalphastrikers with insane pinpoint accuracy (not only PPC'ers!) forcing me not to play MWO on any chassis.

And I'm ready to review my playstile, but jumpsnipers are not ready =).

i love the way they currently shake but do prefer a lil less shake for a light mech. just a teeny weeny bit tho... dont nerf the shake too much.

If it wasn't ppc's it'd be gauss and ac/s. Reticule shake at least needs to stay

That's just one part of it, they also mentioned it could be done on a specific weapon basis as to not hurt the non-op boated weapons like small lasers.

the JJ shake needs to be toned down. and randomness removed.

and on top of that, it needs to be removed for light mechs, and lowred for medium mechs and heavy mechs
