My friends and I have noticed that the hit registration isnt working as it should after the improvement on "lost package crash to desctop" patch. Now, sometimes your streak hits doesnt do any dmg to the ennemy mech. It happens quite alot.

Especially Ac weapons hit registration went to be very bad.

Did you have the same experience?

Note: For you sleep

Yes, the hit detection got a lot worse in the past patch. It's been documented in the patch feedback forums.

in the last week, I have had alot of shots that havent registered even though they hit a nice slow moving atlas.

But yesterday I also had 3 times where a mech hit me with ppcs/acs/gauss damaging my internals instead of my armor. Perhaps its a bug in the Blackjack hitbox. I dunno.

I wasnt able to find it unfortunatelly. And i didnt see a thread with hit registartion here at general discussion.

Anyways The pings are very jumpy right now. Maybe that correlates with the bad hit registration.

Indeed, ive noticed it after the improvement on "lost package crash to desctop" which is at least a month ago

I just read this from Karl Berg in the feedback forums:

Hey guys; yes, as you've noticed our issues with packet latency and loss aren't completely sorted, although the graphs indicate we came pretty close. With this very last patch we're now within about 10 to 20% of the total packet rate from about a month ago, except now players won't get disconnected due to low levels of packet loss or large latency variations. We have another fix coming with next patch to try and bring us all the way back in line, which should hopefully also solve the latency problems several users are noticing.

HSR, as it is right now, is extremely sensitive to varying latency, so for those of you experiencing large latency variations due to the increased send rate, this next patch should make things much better. Slightly longer term we are discussion options for removing the need to compute latency for HSR all together.

Thx for your effort. Now it makes sence and the hit registration probelms is really related to that package lost improvement

Hopefully they ll fix it as soon as possible

Please fix hit registration... I have a 60ms ping that is very stable and my hits shouldn't do no damage... there are people even using proxy servers now to make it where they can't be hit as often...

That doesnt makes sence with the Proxy as HSR is only related to your Ping. With a Proxy you would hurt your own hit registration

So? Almost all lights have more than 20 armor in their legs...

It's been this way for a while. It's not nearly as bad as it was though. It's a largely a problem with the internet service of the host and client, not the servers themselves. They continue to work on it on whatever capacity they can though.

Even PGI's forums lag. Thank you for this poll because in my thread where I pointed out the same thing only a bunch of Trolls showed up to fling poo.

I know what the real culprit is but people won't like it. AMS. AMS has no flat rate to miss so it knocks down everything smaller than an LRM10 instantly. No amount of focus fire will overwhelm AMS, only the total number of the incoming volley which leads me to believe the blob of LRMs do not do individual damage, but collective 'pre-determined' damage instead. AMS also seems to be bugging out and going after SRMs/SSRMs too, and if two AMS mechs are together they can c0ckblock entire boats.

That, the poor hit registration, and how stupidly overpowered heavies/assaults are vs mediums/lights is what is causing players to have obnoxiously low damage matches. This game has turned into snipe, or roll a cheese assault. Mindless deathmatch garbage at its finest.

after the HsR Ballistic Patch hit registration was awesome. I was scared to play my jenner, honestly. Its related to the latest lost package improvement patch.

I recognized it pretty often now that you hit the ennemy with your ac- you do see the sparks- you aim radical becomes red but the ennemy mech doesnt get any damage.

YW.

i dont think that commando i was streaking had an ams. Also i saw how my aim radical went red. So it was moar likely a hit registartion "glitch"-issue

I shot the hell out of a hunchback last night, it ran away with barely a scratch. 2-3 AC/20 shots, 2-3 salvos of srms, 2-3 salvos of LPLs. All at near point blank range. It was like the thing had a force field or something.
