Best idea I've ever had was playing with the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack in the background. Bear McCreary needs to be contracted to make music for CW. *hint* :)

I love this while doing 100-tons-gymnastics:

et cetera. Bolt Thrower rules now and years before, when we played the Battletech tabletop.

I love to listen to Two Steps From Hell, they make trailer music for the movies. Their stuff fits perfectly in the background as I duke it out with another mechwarrior.

CellDweller: Battlecry

most of this guys stuff feels like it belongs in a "galactic" atmosphere, his "Soundtrack for the Voices in my head" series is freaking mesmerizing.

+1 times infinity!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!1!111!

Got a ton of Soundtrack to the Voices in My Head, vol 1, 2 and 3 on my MWO playlist. "Solaris" is just epic while stomping about Tourmaline or Canyon Network.

Also added a lot of the Galactica soundtrack, and even some of the Matrix Reloaded OST(Teahouse by Juno Reactor... Good tribal-sounding fight music)

Edit: How on earth do you embed youtube on here?

Edit on edit: Derpity derp derp

Celldweller has many epic tracks, but his latest dubstep-inspired album is complete ****.
He sold out :)

Tho Steps From Hell is extremely good, listening to it from time to time. This is as epic as the music can possibly get)
My favourite album is Pathogen.
Some examples:

not really, more like testing the waters, on his new album he does go back to some rock/synth/kickstep with his 10yr anniversary 2 disc set (on disc 2)

Classical music. The calmer the better. It is a bit of a paradox but the calmer the music the focused i get. Worked for me since the tabletop game some 20 years ago and thru every Battletech title since.

Huge machines stomping forward over nothing but shreds of burning metal.
It´s not just war, it´s the future of war, it´s where mankind stands in 3050.
Can you hold the firing line and face 1000 ton´s of steel and metal build to frag
you with gun´s that have a caliber big as trucks
and lasers that have the power consumption of a small town?

IT HAS BEGUN MECHWARRIORS!

I never listen to anything while playing. However, if I ever get a Locust I'll make an exception:
