I also see standard paint is on sale for 250 MC, What is the difference? (i can see more colors for premium, but anything else?)
Does standard work on any mech you own as well? I feel it is about time to get some paint! Just want to make sure i know what is up before i buy is all..

(Think Game of Thrones, the Royal Guard or the Gold-cloaks and the Red-cloaks.)
Standard colors are usually more in line with military regulars. Some are faded, some are deliberately muted as a form of camouflage. These are the colors used by people who pass their Battlemech down from generation to generation. Colors used by the regular armies of the various houses. Colors sometimes used by farmers, brigands, bandits, raiders, etc. The metal under these colors tend to have a dull, muted shine if any shine at all.
(Think Game of Thrones, the Knights of Winterfell in their brown and black dull-colored, worn furs and simple-themed clothing).
This is the same paint job done with Premium, Standard, and Free Paints. Please don't copy this theme as it's the Zhizhu Merc Group's official colors. Note that the prices do not reflect actual prices as these were A ) partly during a sale, and B ) I own most of the paints displayed.
Comparisons in spoiler.
Edit: Put in spoiler.

I think it's too much money. And honestly I could care less about the color of my mech anymore.

If you click a specific color point (primary, secondary, tertiary) and then click it a second time you'll have it revert back to basic green or a previously assigned color. You could in theory change the color, double click it to show the basic green, then change the color again to compare two different colors in the same spot.

It had been said, some months back (lol), that the "Basic" cbill selection would expand a little bit as well as a "couple" of cbill patterns when Community Warfare is released. I would continue to expect the cbill paints to be in the 3 million range and the patterns to be as high as 8 million (perm unlock for chassis).
The highest number of patterns we could probably expect if they go 'the route' implied would be two cbill patterns per faction -- and you'd only be able to get it as a member of said faction. Of course that's only 'implied' and not stated as fact, and it would make sense since they said these would be faction-lore-friendly patterns.

100% agree. 500 MC for one standard color...completely ridiculous. It should be 10-50 MC. If it was 10-50, I probably would have actually spent 500 MC or maybe even 1000 MC but no way in hell will I even spend 250 MC on ONE COLOR. Same goes for the camo patterns. I would probably by them all if they were in the 100-200 MC range each but over a 1000 MC just for a pattern? yeah right.
Power to anyone willing to do this but the cost it totally out of line, even for a mere vanity item, especially since you can't even see the paint job when your piloting the mech.

You want all the work they have to do redoing the textures in each color, at 3 or 4 different resolutions, for every single mech with different versions for different variants for less than 25 cents each? The only way that'd work is if the game turned pay to win by allowing you to spend money on things like AC/20s with golden ammo, and nuclear strike modules. The game has to make money, and if you haven't noticed there's been a lot of ploys lately to try and recoup the expenses of the legal crap associated with getting us the reseen.
Just a note: 250 MC is 1 dollar and 15 cents.

Davion: http://mwomercs.com/...ion-paint-jobs/
Steiner: http://mwomercs.com/...iner-paint-job/
Non Specific: http://mwomercs.com/...ame-paint-jobs/
I'm sure there are others (do a search) these are just the ones I remembered.
Almost forgot Camo Specs! While not MWO paint jobs, it does show the unit paint jobs from each faction in the battletech universe on miniatures.

That's my major gripe with MC; you have to buy a metric ton of it!
Take, oh I don't know... League of Legends. You can pretty much buy enough "LoL points" to just buy one skin.

To be honest, the more MC you buy at once, the more you get per dollar. 250 MC at the lowest buying option is $1.39. The price I gave earlier is if you bought 30 dollars worth.
I think part of it though is there's a fee they get charged for every time you buy MC. It's usually how Ultimate Pay makes its own cash, they take a fee, and so PGI tries to encourage you to buy in bulk. Personally I buy mine in $99.95 intervals once every 4 to 6 months and stretch it out. Makes everything dirt cheap.

I paid 15 bucks a while back during a sale 3-4 months ago. Bought 1 month premium, and 8 mech bays..
fast forward, with around 700 matches played.. I shelled out another 15 bucks, turned in 200 coins worth of XP for a module, a few paints, and i still have money left for more bays, and another color or two..
If i want 5-10 more colors, Ill pay another 15 bucks.. (buying onsale)
45 bucks for a really fun online game, and i really won't have to shell out another dime if i don't want for another year if i don't want. If ya ask me, that is one hell of a deal..
