In all fairness I think its worth looking into having in this game. It will definately add a alternative play style for lighter mechs than harassing and scouting. I'm already imagining joining games completely populated by urbies.

I've done that before. In MPBT3025. It was like watching fat, short people dance. Step forward, shoot, step back, step forward shoot, step back. :P

City combat would be epic with the Urby. Imagine comming around the corner in a Med or Heavy to have an Urby start chewing your legs off with it's AC. :)

Who here wants a light mech that's good for something other than just running fast and getting shot in the knee?

I do I do! :)

Just get a JagerMech and you both should be pleased.

Oh god... I have no love for the Jagermech... walking ammo explosion in my book. Give me an RFN-4D and call it a day.

I know I'll overheat like nuts going full blast. I love riding that heat curve ^^

Also, I'm a fan of stock 'mech... gives your some nice tactical situations when you're dealing with equipment restrictions. Taking out big boys while in an Awesome or Atlas is what they do... being that plucky pilot in the Jagermech who just out foxed and out boxed an Atlas... that is a tale you'll be proud to spin.

Assuming you live and win, odds are you'll be so torn up a wasp will deal the final blow.

But it's that kind of engagement which makes the urbanmech so appealing~

They shouldn't have it in the game at first, then put it in the game store after say a month... then sit back and watch the money roll in :)

Woke up to this thought today... Isn't the Urbanmech's big brother the Imp ?
I'd worry about kicking the Urbie for his lunch money then...

I can totally see it being in the in-game market for ships and giggles.Probably just like the Lowe in WoT, at least half of every server will be stocked with them.

This mech brings up an interesting notion and suggestion I have for devs. I really think it would be a nice little extra to have mechs that don't have elbow actuators be able to flip guns, but be limited in side fire. This would add another distiction and character to the different mechs so they don't just become a re-hash of playstyles.

Easter Eggs should be purchasable in a F2P game as long as they provide no significant or unfair advantage to paying players over non-paying players...

... and UrbanMech would not exactly present an unfair threat to your opponents...

Well at least it'll give a good pool of town guards.

Great comics at the beginning of the thread. Urbanmech is a must add. Granted I'm more of a Javelin/Raven guy, but for a lancemate in close terrain give me an Urbie!

The urbanmech is the lolcan of the btech universe but it's ridiculously cheap, it's all basic stock, and that a/c for it's weight is a darn hard punch.

There is a reason why it's been fielded by lots of merc units plus house forces as well, and not just in cadre units.

Would I ever field one... maybe on a bet, but I like legging daishi's with a dasher.

though in my "perfect" game I'd have my Phoenix Hawk LAM, why, because that's how I roll, maybe when the clans hit i'd flip over to a black hawk prime, after I rebuilt it, if you know how to get a hold of the diamond sharks parts aren't that expensive. But that's a discussion for another topic...

Ironhawk's work not being reposted over here is a tragedy that needs remedying.

OK Garth, here goes. Response with a Superbowl special in Solaris VII. I tried to capture FD's style not only in the Urbie but also in the fact that poor Atlas has got his arm ripped off... Versus your CCG card reference, the action here would take place a second or two later I guess... But I wanted to see the initiation of the core's chain reaction. To all football fans, enjoy the game! Posted Image EDIT: Adding what would be the view of the hit just a second earlier (AC detonates, no core reaction). Posted Image

Since when did the Empire start sending Storm Troopers to Solaris?

Nice art. Although I hope that atlas pilot ejected already, otherwise, from the look of that light radiation, he might wake up tomorrow with a few new moles on his skin...
