That is not a Spider-specific issue. That's a problem that's been around quite a while where when a mech instantly stops due to overheating, the apparent and actual locations aren't the same. At one point it was possible to see hit-reg failures on fast Heavies when this happened. The reason you only notice on the Spider is because it's fast and skinney, so even a small deviation matters. A Jenner or Raven is less prone because the hitboxes are nice and long (or, in the case of the Raven's legs, about three times as big as the graphic).
None of the issues are spider specific, heck about a week ago I hit a Centurion about 6 times with dual ppc + gauss all to the CT and never saw his armor drop past orange but as soon as I shot his RT all the damage registered no problem. Thing is, that is very rare for a cent but for a spider it's seemingly 50/50. Some of them are fine and some are not. I am aware of the shut down problem and no I don't only notice it on spiders but they get that glitch far far more often than the other mechs now a days. And I only used the shut down example because people like to claim that everybody is just crazy and they aren't really hitting the spider when I'm sure that is not the case every time. Really all mechs have issues with registering damage in all kinds of situations but the spider is king of not registering damage and like I said originally it simply isn't fair that some people get a super shield and others don't. And that inconsistency is where most of the "every spider is broken" or "nothing is wrong l2p" comes from.
