There are ways to add more content and variety to the game. But I'm not going to write this again =) Here's a link to another thread I recommend...

The ultimate problem, map-wise, that I see coming is the integration of maps into community warfare. Out of the bunch we have, only a couple actually feel like real planetary terrain (River City, Alpine Peaks, Crimson Straits, Caustic Valley) and not an arena even though they all suffer from the same basic format. This has the potential to be a serious problem once campaigns for planets begin to be fought because every planet is not going to have a mix of these environments only. I'm not sure how PGI is going to solve this, but I hope they have some good ideas they're working on.
It would also explain why CW is long in coming.

Built realistically, the shadows would be very cold, the places in sunlight would be very hot (depending on the distance from the star).

More like late December, early January.

The archipelago map IS Crimson Straight. You are already playing it.
I thought Crimson is the Island City map.

Bryan hinted that they might incorporate a feature in the Moonbase map, such that the day/night cycle would be very short so that a single match would encompass one or two full day/night rotations, and such that the day cycle would have high temps and the "night" portion would have low temps - I wouldn't necessarily think this functionality would be in when the map was first released, but they would probably go back and add it later as they free up time/resources.
